I agree gents, we need a strong QC process. I don’t want to bring in my C8 for any unnecessary warranty work. I have not seen any information on the process post strike anywhere. I just need to be patient and information will flow eventually.

    Thanks

    Well stated Racer86!

GM has yet to officially acknowledge the QCH process for the C8, though as it is the identical process they have used for all previous generation introductions, and at a lesser length for all new major Corvette model introductions, e.g., Z06 and the ZR1, it is expected we experience it again. There was a significant amount of grumbling by some very early C7 customers about this hold, but when we later learned that it was because there was something substantive enough found needing repair that included sending some early C7’s all the way to Rouse Engineering in Detroit to fix (then shipped right back to BGA before dispersal), the wisdom of this process became clear.

As I responded then on another forum to a particularly not happy person who had posted something like, “how come they do not ship it to my dealer to fix it,” my response post was that “I would prefer that the best trained C7 technicians in the world, with the most precise equipment to fix the issue, and the best supply of parts, that BGA is the place where I want my C7 to be fixed.”

Might the C8’s hold be two weeks only? Possible. Might it be four weeks? Probably that long, IMO, but even GM does not know now how long it would be. They will only know after they have dissected enough randomly chosen and “problem” issues” for them to determine that, “they are good to go, meeting or exceeding all our QC standards.”

One month QC hold still on?

    Hi all,
I have not seen a thread recently talk about the potential QC hold on all new C8s. My TPW is 2/10/20 (confirmed with Kerbeck yesterday). Does anyone know if they still plan on holding up the first 3-4 weeks of cars with a 1 month QC hold or if the plan has been altered because of the strike.

    Thanks
