Not surprised that we are now beyond the realm of systematic, periodic changes. GM has finished getting it all back together after the strike. Of course while that means that the system is back together and every previously accepted 3000 status order now placed into its post-strike TPW, that doesn’t of course rule out any single car from being changed since We all know that it is tentative production week.
Let’s hope if yours moves, it would be sooner.

TPW’s Returning And They Are Not What Some Were Wishing For

Touched base with GM chat today. Lady asked me what car/model I was inquiring about, and when I mentioned 2020 C8, she transferred me to “James”, who I assume was a concierge. He told me I was status 3000 and TPW of 2/17/20. I checked with my dealer and got the same report. My status and TPW has not changed in 3 weeks.

Any TPW prior to February is not correct information. Sorry. The very first customer cars are currently scheduled by GM for February 3, 2019.
Does that mean that GM can not later change that 2/3 date? Of course we all know it does not, for we all know that the T in TPW stands for tentative. Could the SORP later change to 2/10 or even 1/27? Yes but again as of today, SORP remains February — something a GM spokesperson stated publicly just a week ago (though when he stated February, he did not give a date during that month).

That’s great. Not sure there is an earlier PTW. Perhaps standard production start is 1/27/20?

Talked to my dealer today and he told me my TPW as still 2.17.20. Don't know why the Corvette concierge told me that. Sorry for the bad information.

Might the Concierge program, who is normally up to date, not be accurate that we are in another time out mode at this time?

The other thing that has not been addressed unless I missed it is the Elephant in the room. It is called November and December Holiday, Party and Vacation Season. Anyone who has been part of a very large and sophisticated manufacturing operation will know exactly what I am talking about.
Productivity or throughput does slow some and yes there is an increase in CAR's or corrective action reports for non compliant parts or for manufacturing operation non compliances. Just so everyone is aware and to keep in mind with your expectations.

In your case Supercarsrock, you were initially the first week of production, and thankfully are still the strike-caused new first week of production. We can wait for you to get your and post pictures and your analysis here as soon as you do!

Nicely, your C8 will be produced the second week of customer car production. The strike was eight weeks long, yet your car is being now made in the seventh week of production, so from that perspective you are moving up (lol).

At first, was 12/16/19 after the strike 02/10/20, now it's 02/17/2020. Moving in the wrong direction.

Sorry Jericho. Our C8 will be made back to back that week (we both hope). BTW, my earlier assignment was also 1/6.
