  • R8C Museum Delivery - Payment & Paperwork

    Hi all
I’m doing theR8C Museum Delivery, so how is does it work as I have never done it before? When and who gets final payment, my dealer or the museum? Also do you sign the typical new car paperwork at the museum?

Thanks if you can help clarify, I really appreciate it.
    Vette's owned: 99 Sebring Silver Convert - 10yrs, 2008 Crystal Red Convert,w/cam, longtubes and Vortech supercharger. C8 VIN 00336 built on 2/10/20 - Delivered 3/18/20 C8 Spec: Torch Red 2LT, Z51, FE4, E60, CF7, FA5, AH2, HUL, J6E, TU7, 3F9, Q8P, 5ZU, R8C

The R8C Museum Delivery should be on your order, the price is $995 and will be listed as part of your MSRP. You will pay your dealer just as if you were picking it up from him. All of the paperwork and payment should be completed with the dealer you're making the purchase from, and you will carry those papers with you and present them to the Museum when you show up for the pickup. You will even carry a paper tag or however your state handles new car licenses. There will be some paperwork to sign at the Museum. You will not regret that option. It is an awesome experience. My C8 order will include my 3rd museum delivery experience. Also, there are a few options not available if you have the museum code included on your order, i.e. STI - rocker panels, and 5DF - the Black Trident Spoke Wheels, and I'm sure there are some more.

Thanks TexasEM. Great post. I love my Museum Delivery, but not this time — as going over the Rockies in winter is not going to work out. But next time....

John, you could go southwest and visit MECF friends in LA, TX, NM, AZ, NV and then CA and OR once turning north. No snow would be found this way.

I have the same thoughts of doing this and driving back to CA on those Z51 tires.

Thats a trip from KY to CA. And the Z51 tires are softer rubber . Less life on them. You may need a new set of tires by the time you get back, lol Depending on your driving habits.

I'm having Museum delivery and then having it shipped to CT so I can have it wrapped in XPEL paint protection film by Automobilia... I know you will think I'm crazy but I am a fanatic about protecting the paint...had Jezebel (my C7) wrapped and it saved her a bunch of times....after all my username is dolfanlon...fanatic about the Miami Dolphins too!

You are so right dolfanlon! I am also a HUGE fan of paint protection, my daily just got a refresh coat of ceramic and she shines like new again...People ask me all the time if I just had it painted or detailed...Nope its ceramic coating! Factory black paint looks better than the day I bought the car 4 years and 52 thousand miles later. My last Vette was wrapped from end to end, I am going with a ceramic coating this time, I love wrap I personally think nano coatings are newer better tech.

Want to do Museum Delivery (R8C), getting your car wrapped while you are taking a couple of days to play in Nashville, Rudy @AutoArmor is located in a suburb east of Nashville. Does XPEL, window tint and more. We have forum members who have had their C7’s done there, and having seen at least one of them after it left Rudy’s, I can confirm they do excellent work.

I understand XPEL is a ceramic paint protector...how does that compare/replace clear film application on car front fascia, hood, mirrors backs, etc. to protect from road rash? Driving on Freeway rocks ding and chip paint,. Are both needed? I have added clear film before, never XPEL Ceramic Coating, but want to protect my new C8 as I want it looking good for a looong time. Thanks.

XPEL is a urethane clear bra. There are many excellent brands, of which XPEL is just one of the top five IMO. However, it is not a ceramic coating.

There are literally 50 different brands of nano ceramic coatings, but to me, the # 1 of them is CQuartz Professional. Here is my car having received two coats of CQuartz from a certified installer more than four years earlier. It had 17,000 miles on it when this picture was taken, had been to 22 states. I remain very pleased with this degree of shine on a clearly cloudy day.

I will be having our C8 done in two coats of CQuartz by the same installer.
