  • When do Dealers learn about their allocations?

How soon will the dealers learn exactly how many allocations they receive for the 1st and 2nd wave of their allocations.

Im curious about this too. I know dealers already know how many total allocations they have for the first 3 months. For instance for my small dealer that number is 12.

Now what I dont know is if that equates to 4, 4, and 4 cars for each of the september - november consensus months

Dealers do not yet know how their 3 months total would work out for divided for each of the first three months. Could be 3, 3 and 6; could be 4, 4 and 4. That will be announced on the morning of September 12th (perhaps as early on September 5th).

No one knows for sure yet. September 12th, or as earliest as the 5th on first consensus. But, talking to a larger dealer I got the impression in your case with your dealer's allotment, it may be 4 , 4 and 4 for Sept. Oct. Nov. But then again GM may be catering to larger dealers giving them more cars up front. Then 3 , 3, 6 may happen. Just guessing.

My dealer has eight in first consensus.(as of this am 16 left for year) SEP OCT NOV like others have said won’t know until early Sep how the number will be parsed out.
I’m number 7 of those 8. Most likely November order gets accepted.
BUT that could change because numbers 1 thru 6 may order something that is already constrained or get constrained and their order get kicked back and orders slid maybe up or maybe down the time line .One fact is undisputed the process is fluid.
All I’m sorta certain of is I will have MY as ORDERED C8 delivered this coming Spring maybe March maybe May I’m ok with that , knowing GM will take my money eventually and I’ll have MY mid-engine Stingray .........whats not to like about that......Sit back and enjoy the ride to your C8

Welcome levinja to the forum. Congratulations! Quite possible that about 5, or even more of those “ahead of you” fall backwards because of a) specific constraints, and b) those who are going to wait for the HT convertible moving behind you.

It's interesting to me that there are no cars for customers but there are C8s all over the internet. There is a post here that shows RON FELLOWS DRIVING SCHOOL on its side. There are a bunch out there but no one gets to order yet. Why is that?

My PA dealership has 7 first round allocations, and I am # 4...... don't know what the 3 in front of me are ordering for color, so that could possibly move me up, as we are going with Torch Red, and no other current constrained options.

I'll be anxious to see if they get any allocations in the first consensus......

Best of luck Strake! And again congratulations on winning the “price poll” contest. You were off less than $1,000 for all five mandatory pricing components. Do you work for GM pricing division? Seriously, very well done!

We will get you your prize next month; sorry, Carlisle, Caravan and NCM 25th intervene, and we are also looking there for some nice C8 swag to also send you.

                        Thanks again, John !!!

As I speculated what the pricing might end up, I configured our pending C8 car and guessed within about $800 on the total.... LOL.

I see your avatar pic is now ELB..... guess that's what you're going with ?

Yes. I saw in on our friend's late 2019 GS in the sunlight and then a week later so it on a cloudy, light rain day, and it was alive in both conditions. That sealed the deal for ELB.

It's stunning color. What color interior are you going with?

It was our FIRST choice color, however after seeing the Sky Gray interior in person a few weeks ago, we found the gray to be WAY too light for our taste.

My dealer also has 7 first round, I'm # 1 but I'm ordering a base 3LT w/front lift which looks to be constrained until Oct (3rd, 4th & 5th week production) which will drop me back 1 or 2 spots. This may work out as I may miss group being held for quality control.
