  • GM Delivery Cost With Museum Delivery

    Last week my dealer told me that even if I were to choose Museum delivery, GM will still include the $1200 delivery as well as the Museum deliver priced option. Has anyone else heard thus?
    TPW 2/17 .. Shadow Gray Metallic w/Natural, 3LT, Z51, Mag, Lift, Spectra Gray Trident, Edge Red Calipers, Body Color Accents.

    Yes, this has always been the case with museum delivery.

    Every car has the same destination fee whether it is shipped across the country or across the street to the NCM. The NCM delivery cars still get covered and loaded on a transport truck.

      I'd be glad to drive it across the street for them and save the 1200 bucks.

        It was a law passed by the U.S. Congress in 1978 after two years of lobbying by the National Automotive Dealers Association, that every dealer in the Continental 48 states pays the identical amount for transportation/delivery charges regardless of how close or how far the dealers was from the manufacturing facility.
        Z06 coming late this summer: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, complete high wing/aero package. CCB’s, with every piece of visible carbon fiber available. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

          Doesn't seem fair since delivery on my 54 was $78. I wasn't born yet but that is what is on the original window sticker

            You just proved NADA lobbying point, that in their opinion that it was unfair for those dealers who were 2,500 miles away to pay huge delivery costs, yet those across the street or across the state from the assembly plant were paying a pittance. The current law is not GM’s, nor NCM’s fault. Blame goes this time with you caused the law, e.g., NADA.

              Of course, the average annual family income back then was only $4200, which sort of puts things in perspective.
