I wish I had made sure the factory was installing tow hook receivers before I placed my order. They started 2 months after mine was built. So I had to customize.

Also CarPlay would have been nice to have!

None. I am a measure twice, cut once person. So I was a second year buyer, after reading all the feedback from the initial adapters.

Buying the second year does have its benefits...

measure twice cut once has its merits.

Actually I did buy second year. A 2015. What I failed to do was anticipate how handy CarPlay was going to be and that I was going to get into tracking after the Spring Mountain experience.

I dont have any regrets in how I ordered previous corvettes...

i like 1LT s...I added hud afterward which you could do on c5 s and c6 s quite easily.... not because it was so fantastic but rather because the guy installing my new thick beautiful D shaped steering wheel drove from texas to carlisle PA to install DSV steering wheels with the hope of also installing the HUD...

i never planned on getting the HUD..with the steering wheel install...meanwhile .he kept lowering the price of installing the HUd kit and he was nice to my son while installing the new steering wheel...so I told him I insisted on paying his original HUD addition price... when someones nice to my son..when delivering any type of service I tip real well.

          he was happy..

i like the HUD but its not that great...I really use it mostly when my radar detector goes off...to see how far over the speed limit I am...if in fact Im over at all.

i dont really drive that much over the speed limit most of the time...most of the time its five or ten over and the police kind of like corvettes so they dont bother me..

not to jinx myself but I havent gotten a moving violation since 1981 when I crossed a Z line...

to be honest I didnt even know what a z line was before that ticket.

use common sense and hot dog it a little bit at a time or even better in places where the population density is close to zero

back on topic...i never really regretted not getting a full boat of options..

no one option I ever missed ...

I had the Z51 & Mag Ride option on my '15 coupe and I was glad to have the experience.

This time I am not ordering it, in part because the Chief Engineer for C8 at Road America convinced me that the base C8 will handle even better than the C7 Z51. Good enough for me.
'64 Silver Grey Coupe (custom paint)- still our favorite
            '13 White/Blue Diamond 427 60th roadster - favorite late model

'20... Zeus Bronze Coupe, 2LT, GT2 seats, Natural two tone, Body color accents, Pewter wheels- 10/1/20😀 GAME CHANGER

Hope that this is true; would save us lots of $ and give us the all season tires . Personally I will wait to actually get a ride to judge. Love the MRSC in our C7 GS Sport mode.

When I heard him say that it reinforced my decision to go with a base, again, plus I truly like the rear deck with no “wing” it just looks so clean and elegant. I have had a great experience with my base 2014 Stingray and for me ..........I plan on this C8 to be my last new car.... and I’m going to tour every where my time will let me..can’t wait...

You are correct the non spoiler versions do have a greater degree of elegance....its less boy racer and more sophisticated in appearance especially in certain colors.

i believe the zeus bronze looks very elegant and its been show with no spoiler and the stunning natural colored interior.

add in those bronze wheels and i dont know what the take rate will be or what the vehicle looks like in natural lighting as opposed to showcar lighting..but wow is tjat stunning...

other colors too...do look crisper and leaner without that rear spoiler.

the fact the c8 standard version out handles a c7 z51 helps those decide which way to go...and the by product is saving money for other options too...or actually getting the c8 for under 60 grand....

that in and of itself is an amazing feat and hard to deny...

think of it...a supra launch edition is 58 grand...give or take a few dollars tjat so close to a base c8...how does anyone suggest the supra launch edition is the smarter play...

i believe supra engineers announced yesterday tat every year there will be special edition supras...

                    fast and furious 1 edition..
                    fast and furious 2 edition...

                    and on and on..

the standard issue corvette for under sixty is very attractive especially since John mentioned option pricing could be much higher than we anticipate...

that would follow the porsche success model of profitability...

banging on the option list ..thats Porsches specialty..

with high conquest hopes from the fatherland...GM might just raise option list pricing so the porsche consumers feel right at home choosing matching color seat belt buckles...(kidding)

No. Even with mag ride the Z51 has stiffer springs than the base model, and mag ride can't change that. On the C7, the base model rides better than the Z51 no matter where you set the shocks.

I think the only thing I would have done differently with my C7 is the buyers tour. I didn't do it, and wish I had. While I would like to have the parking cameras and Android Auto that's in the 16s, I would have missed out on a full season of driving it.

Let us agree that we could give up some comfort. Personally, comfort is not even on our top five Corvette scale — and we often do 600 miles road trip days. We are fine with giving up some comfort. Heck, we bought a Z06 which as far as comfort is concerned, is not even on the comfort measuring scale (either less than 0 or higher than 10). We drove our Z06 on many 600 mile days, one over 700 miles and were fine with it.

I realize that comfort is important to others, just not something we even consider for our Corvette (nor on my WRX daily driver).
