fords done an amazing job with the development of the ford GT500 with 760 hp and a dct transmission.

interesting how with a highly developed chassis , a dct and 760 hp they cant hit sixty mph in under 3 seconds...

im sure at higher speeds its even stronger....but off the line even with dct this begins to explore the limits of a front engine rear wheel drive layout..

ive never really been a ford guy yet I do respect their fine efforts over the years....

i guess rear mid engine has its benefits

Right, has to do with engine placement and also I do believe in the design of the DCT with 8 speeds That with all the effort from Tremec and the GM design team this extra gear may have attributed to this.

The ME gets dramatically more traction with the rearward weight bias. In the Mustang, you can't put all the power to the pavement from a standing start. The C8 can put more HP to use off the line than the Mustang can. By the end of a quarter mile, I'm sure the Mustang will be rolling a lot faster.

Rumors are many ford guys are considering the c8 over the relatively expensive gt500..

we all know that zero to 60 mph is all about the launch...but many live and die by those times..

74 to almost a hundred grand...760 hp and the standard under sixty grand c8 beats the gt500 to sixty has got to at least have some of the ford and yes even the dodge boys saying to themselves...

maybe its time to add a bowtie...

the camaro guys are wigging out too..

all in a good way and fwiw i dig all the above mentioned cars too...

those cars being what they are , as good as they are does push the corvette team even further..

the porsche guys are going to show us with how high GM records conquest sales...

no sale should be approved without finding out what the consumer is presently driving...
