  • C8 Concierge Learning Experience

    This is an opportunity to share what you learned from your talking with a concierge. This thread, even if you are not happy, requires you to be tactful. Conversely, if you are very happy with your concierge’s expertise, feel free to share that.

    I talk with mine tomorrow at 1:00 PM (PST) and will share what I learned.

    Most importantly, this is not a concierge evaluator thread, but one in which we share what new information we learned.

    I was just asked via a PM to be more definitive as to how to do this, its purpose, and similar, so here is some info.

    It is when you establish an appointment with a GM Corvette specialist to talk with you on the phone about your questions, options and similar. Call 1.866.424.3892. Note please that you need to call and make an appointment for your Concierge to call you back. Mine is calling me back tomorrow, one full week after I made my initial call.

    Before you call that number, please have a list of some 4/5 questions that you will leave with the initial person you talk to, ask them to take them down and to send to the concierge so that when she or he calls you back, they are prepped with what you are wanting to know.

          I filled out the request for a Concierge to contact me and my local dealer of preference in St. Louis ELCO Chevrolet would phone me.
          I got a email stating ELCO was not adding any “ new” concierge requests.
          This was next am after reveal.

            I had a very nice experience with my Concierge contact. He was very polite. He provided me with the C8 Playbook and other links. Overall, I think this is a great idea and will definitely contact them again should the need arise.

              Glad it worked well for you Airedale. Tomorrow at 1:00 PM PST is when I am called. Hoping for answers to the six questions I left him/her as prep one week ago, and to the 200 more questions I have since LOL.

              I am sure I will learn more; looking forward to it.

                        Maybe GM needs to host an AMA session (Ask Me Anything) over on a reddit sub.

                          Concierge session learning: Thank you “Austin.”

                          1) Confirmed that contrary to what we earlier heard, GM will not at any time be putting out a complete list of the 125+ dealer locations where the C8 will be visiting.

                          2) There are two different luggage options; both are dealer, LPO available accessories, e.g. SO3 for a single bag and VK3 for the two piece soft duffle set.

                          3) For the LPO “VQK” splash guards, they are a set of four with the back side of each (facing rearward), only coming “molded in color”; that means the rear side is painted the exterior color of your car. Of course at the time they are ordered from your dealer, one would get to choose a different color than your exterior, e.g., perhaps choosing black?

                          4) Most important to me dealer-installed LPO Visible Carbon Fiber (“VKM”) includes three things (but does not include the visible CF door mirror covers which are separately available as LPO “5JR.”. The three things is does include are a VCF front splitter, two extended VCF extended side rockers (called “skirts” in the C7 generation), and the front grille outer, horizontal, roughly 10” long, trim pieces located about 2/3’s upward on the outer, front grille ducts.

                          5) I asked for the dimensions of both the frunk and the frunk; Austin said he would later email me that info (which I would later post here).

                          6) The Engine Appearance package exactly what its name states, “a package” (option code “5VM”). According to my Concierge, it is a set of four components, exactly like this picture, e.g., one does not get to choose the color of your engine cover if you choose this package at this time, but maybe later when the Edge Red and Silver engine covers are available.

                          Option Code “
                          ZZ3”: Engine Appearance Package” now consists of these four components:

                          A) diagonal visible carbon fiber structural bracing covers;

                          B) LED lighting;

                          C) standard red valve covers;

                          D) this exact engine cover, e.g., black with silver lettering.

                          Therefore if one were to want either of other delayed availability engine covers (Edge Red and Silver), might one not be able to get the Engine Appearance Package now? Looking so. Then afterwards we could individually paint ours a different engine cover color should we want.

                          Looking like that is the case — again at the beginning of C8 production. Might it later change to give the ZZ3 the sub-choice of the engine cover in a different color?

                          Here is your SOP (start of production) only ZZ3 appearance. [Personally, it looks good; might I paint the engine cover later???]

                            My dealer told me about the engine appearance package and the LED lighting. I hope people will use some discretion and not order too many options that make this beautiful car look tacky.
