As an aside, since the high wing is a dealer-installed option apparently you cannot order it if you're doing a Museum Delivery.

Oh no! I am doing a Museum delivery...I guess I will have it done after I pick up the car...Thanks Klinn for making me aware of that fact!

I really do like the high wing 5ZU option but why they don't allow that to be done with R8C delivery is perplexing. Hopefully they will change this restriction before production starts.
As always, check with your dealer to be sure, but here's what the order guide says:

LPO, High wing spoiler, Genuine Corvette Accessory
1 - Requires exterior color (G8G) Arctic White, (GBA) Black, (GJI) Shadow Gray Metallic or (GKZ) Torch Red. Not available with (R8C) Corvette Museum Delivery.
Note as well that if you wanted a body color high wing (5ZU) it's apparently only available for white, black, shadow gray, or torch red cars. The carbon flash version of the high wing (5ZZ) seems to be available for any color car.
All LPO (dealer installed accessory) options are only dealer installed a GM certified dealership. Sorry about that.
Z06 coming late this summer: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, complete high wing/aero package. CCB’s, with every piece of visible carbon fiber available. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

There are lots of other LPO items which do not have that restriction, but others which do, e.g. the black-painted Trident wheels (5DF). My guess is that the other LPO items are small enough to ship inside the vehicle. The high wing (wrapped in whatever protective covering it comes with) or the wheels & tires won't fit in the available trunk space or wedged into the interior. But why wouldn't GM just ship them directly to your dealer while you're enjoying the trip home in your shiny new beast? They could be installed when you arrive home.

Reason: More mindless speculation ;-)
No Wings for me. They look good on some cars but I do not think they look good on this car, IMO , But it is to taste. A personal decision. Besides I have a clothesline to hang the beach towels on.

I don't think that's GM's decision as much as the museum's. The museum isn't a garage: they don't have the tools or mechanics needed to do this kind of work.

Understand totally, the factory is literally kinda across the street/hwy, why can’t they make the change in final assembly? It’s not like they won’t get paid for doing it and if they want they help change the philosophy that Corvette ownership is a step above and give owners a higher level of service this is a good place to start. Also if I wanted a blue car with blue interior why can’t I get yellow seatbelts? I can get yellow brake calipers but not yellow seatbelts? Why? The parts are there, they can order them for the build? These silly rules don’t make sense?

Fair Point. They could charge enough for it to make it worthwhile, I suspect. But I guess GM has a mass-production mentality, and anything that slow down the process isn't viewed favorably.
It seems we all choose this option it in our C8 configurator, I'm hoping its less than 1,995.00.
The real carbon fiber high wing package is $3K on the C7 ZR1.
ZTK TRACK PERFORMANCE PACKAGE
$2,995
Stanchion-mounted adjustable carbon fiber high wing
Michelin® Pilot® Super Sport Cup 2 run-flat, summer-only tires1
Performance suspension with specific shocks and springs
Removable carbon fiber end caps for front splitter (Coupe) (For track use only)
I'm only interested in the C8 high wing. But I really want it in visible carbon fiber. I hope there will be such an option as there are many visible carbon fiber components available. I'd pay $2k for a visable real CF high wing.
