The Z06 Order Accepted, Status, TPW Progression Thread

We are starting to get some great celebratory news. True our Z06 roll out has been a touch challenging at times due to its length , but we have made a lot of progress in this last two weeks with both Custom VIN orders becoming status 3000 two weeks ago and just about a week the first DOSP officially opened. Already some have some members who not only got their orders with allocations submitted, but accepted, some becoming status 3000 and a couple with a tentative TPW.



While this thread is not going to replace nor supplant our sticky’s “The C8 Order Status Inquiry Thread”, as it has been literally 10 months since the Z06’s reveal it is time to post and celebrate milestone progression steps for some of our members.

Please, this is “not I have been waiting too long thread, not a there are problems with certain constraints, nor anything like that thread. Such posts will be removed. It is solely a progress sharing thread for those who have clicked off one of its title milestones.

Please post up your achievement steps moving toward your Z06 order moving from acceptance toward eventually the production line. I know of six members whose Z06’s are already status 3000.

Happy to share that I am also at 3000 status. Should have a TPW in the next couple of weeks. Sometimes it feels funny to share this info because I want everyone to be in the same position. Keep the faith! It will happen. It’s the times we are living in, unfortunately.

Another 3000 status here. With the scarce allocations and constraints in place I was very surprised and extremely excited to receive mine !!

This week was absolutely crazy. We went, on Monday from not knowing if we had an allocation to Wednesday getting the news from Shane at the Museum, that my daughter and I joined the 3000 club.

The message was Urgent you need to tell us what you want engraved on the plaque. I got on the phone with my daughter last night and you wouldn't believe some of the ideas we came up with. That hour and a half phone conversation was worth the wait and the drama. We still haven't decided, and I need to get back to him today.

John and Ed thanks for helping us. I am new to this process and have learned, so much in such a short time.

Eight and a half years ago, my wife and I fulfilled a dream of hers. She always wanted a Red Corvette. You see my wife Patricia had fought breast cancer a high percentage of her adult life. She was first diagnosed when our daughter and son were young and then, after beating it for 17 years, it returned. This time it was stage 4 so we knew our time together was short. Her dad was a Chevrolet dealer and a boxing coach. Patrcia, inherited much from him. She was a fighter and like me loved cars. In the 8 years that she fought stage 4 cancer, Patricia had 11 different chemo treatments, several radiation procedures and countless other procedures, but never complained.

Eight and a half years ago we found out that we ran out of options. It was time to buy that Red Corvette. Our goals were to drive it from Minneapolis to Denver to visit with my son and family. Take it to the Museum and finally that she could make it to our daughter's wedding.

I didn't have much time and found a dealer that was in the process of ordering the owners Corvette. I told him my situation and he offered me the spot and we ordered the C7.

We only physically made the trip to Denver, as she passed a month after we returned. However, although she didn't make it to our daughter's wedding physically, she was there as I had a special necklace made up that included Patricia's ashes. My daughter wore that necklace at the wedding. So, the only thing that remains is our trip to the Museum.

So, I kind of forgot about the last thing on our bucket list. I have yet to meet John, but through various email exchange's, I learned he was doing a museum delivery and what it was all about. At that point my daughter and I decided to complete the last item on our bucket list. You see her and I are buying this beast together, as we don't have the recourses to go it alone. I kind of like that! Yes, Patricia will be going to the Museum, as my daughter will be wearing that Necklace with her ashes.

Patricia is my very best friend, the mother of our two wonderful kids, the crew chief of our racing team and my hero. I am totally blessed to have her on my side. Ask yourself, who would allow their two young children to pursue their desire to race and their love for cars, when one of them, I believe didn't even have a driver's license? She was there for all the wrecks and injuries. The only thing I had to promise her was to never tell her how much I spent on racing! She had an entirely different perspective on life because of her cancer.

As I told John, this most likely is our last Corvette and that is what makes this car so special. There will never be another one like it. There will never be one that will ever sound like it. You see electric, at my age just doesn't do it for me and for our family. I have only1 space left in my garage and it will sit next to our 2012 Boss 302 Perhaps this one might also be #506, but I hope not. You see Patricia's youngest brother has stage 4 cancer and now his options have run out. Timing is important. I want to make sure he gets a chance to drive this car!

I am also at 3000 status had a TPW of 09/19 subject to change and now without a TPW. My car is a PIN optioned car I have selected VIN 0000285 to match my 1953 Corvette VIN 000285 and 2020 with VIN 0000285. The ZO6 is a fortunate plus in my case I started my "application" to receive a 2023 C8 PIN because of it being the 70th Anniversary, at that time the ZO6 was not a "for sure" piece of the puzzle, so the clock started back in mid 2020...

As the months passed by it started to look like the ZO6 might become a reality in 2023 but my goal stayed focused on a 70'th which was still only "There will be something but we don't know exactly what". As the months wore on it became apparent there would be a 70'th edition and my PIN was secured at that point...

Then the ZO6 was announced and I inquired would the 70'th edition become available in ZO6 form??? I then received and email reply that yes indeed the ZO6 would be available as a 70th which is where I stand today....

As a collector of Corvettes I have on more than one occasion here and other sites stated that this 70'th Anniversary will mark a milestone that rivals and surpasses the 1957 Corvette 283 cid engine producing 283 Horsepower. This engine sent a shockwave through the automotive world ,although the following year it moved to 290 HP the line was drawn that the Chevrolet Corvette was a force to be reckoned with...

The 2023 C8 Corvette ZO6 in my opinion is setting a new standard of NA Internal combustion engines that will not be duplicated...Will there be faster Corvettes; absolutely but the future of Corvette like all others is with electric/hybrid power. By the time the 80'th Anniversary rolls around the Internal Combustion Engine could very well be a lesson of history...

Where the future of the Corvette leads who knows but to me this 2023 Corvette ZO6 is the epitome of 70 years of Corvette progress with gasoline power.. I am at the present time not petitioning for VIN 0000285 80'th Anniversary. I hope to see what Chevrolet unveils first.

I am also at 3000. Was very shocked to hear from my dealer about the allocation. They are a small dealer with only about 6-8 Corvettes a year. They were also amazed that they received a Z06 allocation. It was also at M.S.R.P. and no add-ons.
