Anyway I have already sold my C7 to try can get the most value out of it and now have a nice down payment for the C8. Would like to hear from other SoCal folks that are going to be getting the C8 and what you pre-order, order, etc experience has been.

Welcome Blankster, You're in a perfect area to enjoy the PCH drive. I had to do it in a rented Toyota!

I do not know if you saw an earlier post of mine. I was in the third row, right behind Ed Welburn (talked with him twice and he was inquisitive about MECF so I gave him my forum business card. Has he joined? I do not know, but quite of few major automotive names you do know, have joined as members, some under their own names, most of course under forum disguise names. But I digress.

Sitting next to me was a wonderful couple whom I know for several years. He was on the NCM Board of Directors. They live in Connecticut and drove their lates 2018 GS out from there to the hanger. They love to drive their Corvettes, put over 100,000 miles on their first C7, already have 43,000 miles on their 2018. I asked her before the livestream started if they were interested in getting a C8???

She said that since their 2018 was pretty new, not for about 2-3 years, when their current C7 has over 100,000 miles on it.

All that changed toward the very end of the livestream when the three C8’s appeared at once on stage, and she strongly grabbed his elbow and said, “I want a C8 NOW!”

He instantly responded, “then you will.”

Love it. I think many people had that same reaction.

SoCal here. I have a deposit with a SoCal dealer who is selling at MSRP. I know of only 2 dealers in SoCal who are doing this. Most dealers around Los Angeles are adding $5k to the MSRP. Others are selling at Market Price at the time your name comes up, whatever that is.
My primary dealer is doing a lottery; they are the only one doing this that I know of. I have my name at other dealers as a back-up. Each dealer seems to be doing things differently. Some are taking deposits, some are just taking names. You have to go with who you feel comfortable with.
I have attended the reveal at the Petersen Museum (both days), and reveals at four dealers. I was not only enjoying looking at the car, but scoping out dealers as first and second choices to purchase not only the C-8, but a utility vehicle.

I talked to the dealer I got my C7 from and they told me that they didn't think they would get a large allocation and that they would be adding a $5k market adjustment. Talked to another and they are taking 5K deposits and also have a 5K market adjustment. I'm working with a dealer out of state that is selling at MSRP and has been great to work with so far. I have read a lot and spoken to many people that have gone out of state and had great experiences. May do a NSM delivery but not sure about that yet.

A lot of the smaller dealers that still have allotment or are not really revealing what they will be getting are going to be asking for premiums. It is what keeps them as small dealers. I have my deposit and am good. But did make a few phone calls today for a friend and I am finding that mid allotment dealers seem to have more depositis than cars and are admitting that if you deposit now you may fall into next year (2021). A few of the larger dealers seem to have cars left for this year (2020) but with late build dates starting in December those that are on the fence waiting for second year cars may want to do so as right now for the most part if you can get a 2020 it will be May/ June . BUT, be ready for a price increase.

All of our forum dealers have 2020 C8 allocations at MSRP (except Suburban who has nicely sold out, and has nice waiting list too).
