Just did a Windows 10 update on my laptop and I have problems with the MECFwebsite. the like button for posts is not available (doesn't show up) and I am not able to start threads. thank you.

Sounds more like needing a browser update instead? Try google chrome, Firefox and lastly explorer to see if it’s browser specific.

I'm a tech guy so I feel like I may be able to help here. If the following steps don't help, let me know and I'll email you directly for further detailed instructions.

First off, restart your laptop. I know this sounds funny but this really is important to do. Please specifically select "Restart" and not just "Shut Down" when doing this. It's often possible that during updates like this, additional restarts are needed to be done to finalize some changes.

Secondly, make sure you are still logged in. It sounds to me that during the update, you may have been logged out of the website. I noted that you mentioned you cannot start new threads, but you were able to start a new one for this, correct?

Lastly, I suggest you download and use Google Chrome as your browser. There are lots of different options, but I have often found that it seems to work well with most sites. As does FireFox, which is another option you can try.

The issues you are describing sound to me like they are problems with your internet browser, not Windows 10. I think this may have happened after you did the update, however. Probably logged you out or changed some settings around. Let me know if the problem is still there after you try those 3 things. I am currently on the site on a Windows 10 device and am using Google Chrome, and have no issues. The only issue for me is...I've been getting absolutely no work done the past 2 weeks as we get closer to the reveal.

Thanks all for the assistance...I should have stated that I started the thread on my phone. I tried different browsers, but that hasn't worked. Something else, I should have mentioned is that I have started using a new security software total defense... Thanks so much for all the help in advance.!!!

Interesting. Ok, then we go onto the next steps.

What version of Google Chrome are you using? Please make sure it's fully updated. I'll paste the instructions for that here:

-Open Google Chrome window
-On the top right corner (under the X to close it) click on the 3 dots (or 3 lines if it's a really old version)
-Click settings
-A new window should appear. Click the 3 lines in the top LEFT corner this time
-Click "About Chrome OS" (should be at the bottom of the list) and tell me what version it says
-If there is a button near it that says "Update" or something, please click that and let it do its thing

I suppose it is possible that your new security software is causing this issue, but if that's the case there's not a whole lot I can do from my end here. However, I am still thinking that it's your internet browser or internet settings which is causing this problem.

Sorry for the extra questions here, but I noted you said you tried different browsers. Did you also try restarting the laptop? If so, did you also confirm that you are logged in as you on the site? Does it show your username all the way up at the top on the right of the web page?

All set!!! Thank you for all of your help Avatar Roku...I ultimately went into windows advanced settings and had to mess with permissions. I guess either the security update or the windows update messed with my permissions....

Actually I think it was a Windows update, since my main computer just went through one yesterday, and today none of the 'like' buttons etc. worked. That is, until I realized I wasn't automatically signed into ME as normally happened. Once I logged in all worked fine. No settings needed to be adjusted, just sign in. Cheers.
