Greetings everyone, hope everyone is well. I joined the forum in search of other members whom are on the wait list at Jim Ellis Chevrolet in Atlanta so that we are able to compare notes.

Glad you joined us. Sorry I have not info of any kind on Jim Ellis (Atlanta) other than their approximate allocations yearly, based on two year old data, is about 125. Best of luck!

Hi Vette404, I just placed my order with Jim Ellis Monday. I called and asked for a Corvette Sales specialist. I was transferred to Leland. He was very helpful. I had selected the Z51 package, and wasn't sure if it included Magnetic Selective Ride Control. As you probably know it doesn't. And if you select the option "Magnetic Selective Ride Control" it cancels out Z51. One has to select the "Z51 performance suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control" after the Z51 package is selected. I finally figured it out, but Leland understood my issue and said he would confirm my order would include both Z51 and MSRC. Leland sent me photos of my dealer confirmation, 6 pages, and he got everything right. I have no idea what happens next. I was promised no ADM, which is critical to me. I'll pay MSRP + I think a $699 dealer prep fee. I'm fine with that. Leland also said its unknown whether my car will be a 2022 or a 2023. Looks like I'll have plenty of anticipation time. $500 down seemed like too little so I had them put $1000 on my visa. I completed the whole transaction over the phone with a couple text messages as I am home recovering from a nasty case of COVID pneumonia. I've not even sat in a C8 yet, but it sure looks like a world beater!

Hi Woody, great to hear from someone else ordering from Jim Ellis, so that we can get better reference points about when we will be assigned an allocation. I paid the dealership a visit today and I am number 95 on the waitlist as of today and they expect more allocations to come in next week. My deposit day was 3/6/2021 so please prepare to have a lot of patience waiting on your number to be called. Good luck.

Hi. Thanks Vette404 for starting this thread. There is a similar thread on the other Forum that a few of us have post on, however there has been little activity. I have been looking for others that have deposits with Jim Ellis. I placed my deposit with Jim Ellis on January 30, 2021 and as of 2 weeks ago I was still #74 on the waitlist, with a projected allocation in December. I have inquired several times over the last 8 months about my place on the waitlist. When the 2021 carryover orders were put in as 2022 orders (mid July 2021), I was told I was 88. On September 9th, I was told I was 82 and most recently on September 25th, I was told was 74. I know that this dealership got 12 allocations in July and14 allocations in August. I have not seen a confirmed number for September and the dealership did not give me specifics when I asked. Someone on the other forum said that the dealership told him they got 31 in September. I asked my salesman at the dealership and he said that was not true. He indicated that they had gotten somewhere in the mid 40s in total for 22. I also have been struggling to understand the numbers and how allocations are being made at the dealership. If I was truly 88 in July and they have gotten 40+ cars for 22, I would have thought that I would be a lot closer to the top. I discussed this with my salesperson and he assured me that they are allocating cars based on deposit date and that it was likely that the number that I was given back in July was wrong. He did share with me that, at GM's suggestion, they moved up 7 C8R orders in September as these are being sold out very quickly. Even such, I cannot reconcile the numbers and that has been frustrating for me. The dealership does not publicly share data on their allocations and waitlist, so I am glad that we now have a forum that we share our individual experiences and the information that we gather. I plan to follow up with the dealership every couple of weeks, but likely it will only change significantly once a month after consensus, which I think is next week for October, and then orders are matched with allocations over the next 2 weeks. I am hopeful that things will continue to progress as expected, but December still seems a long way off. It is frustrating that others in the Metro area put deposits at other dealerships and they already are driving their cars. I look forward to keeping this thread updated and to learning from everyone.

Hello TRVetteATL, lately I have been speaking directly to the inventory manager, his numbers are seemingly in line with the number of allocations he claims they have had in recent months, hopefully next week they get a little more than the norm. But I'm happy to hear from someone on this forum that is ahead of my deposit date at the same dealer. Please continue to share any pertinent information you may get from your communications and I will do the same.

I just sent a text to Leland, my Jim Ellis salesman, and asked where I stood (what number) on their wait list. No doubt, it will be many months before my order is matched up with an allocation. Let's hope Bowling Green has a great production year, with few interruptions. However given, chip shortages, worker shortages, COVID, and who knows what else, Corvette production has some headwinds. Then again, considering we are now in year three of production, with few changes from 2020 models, maybe they will have the line really humming. Hope so.

Thanks Vette404. Can you share the name amd contact number of the inventory manager that you have been talking to? (If you would prefer to send via a PM that is fine). It sounds like that person has the best information. Also. can you please share in detail what numbers you have gotten from the inventory manager? I am also holding out hope for a big allocation later this week. I look forward to hearing updates from everyone. I know it is going to be worth the wait.

I just talked to my salesman at Jim Ellis and asked where in line I am on the allocation wait list. He asked when I put my deposit down. 9/27 I told him. He said I was about number 275. He didn't say when he thought I my be granted an allocation, but predicted I would get my new Stingray about September 2022. Depending on model changeover it could be either a 2022 or a 2023.
