  • Who Was Louis Chevrolet?

    Most obviously, Louis Chevrolet was the person who founded the Chevrolet car company.

    He was born in Switzerland in 1886 and died in the U.S. in 1941. But more than starting the car company, few know that not just Zora, but also Louis Chevrolet was also an excellent race car driver. For example, among his many notable racing achievements, he finished 7th in the 1919 Indianapolis 500.

    Here is a picture of his race car at that time.

    He is a small part of the rest of his life thanks to wiki.

    The NCM is currently running a "History of Chevrolet Racing" exhibit. I'm going to try to make it up there before it ends in January.
