I have long been a car enthusiast starting with a 1964 Mustang convertible, then moving on to a 1971 Datsun 240Z. I worked through the Z family and into Porsches. One of the best cars I’ve ever had was an original Acura NSX. But with that same honor were my Lotus’. I’ve even tasted some Italian with Ferrari and Lamborghini and currently have an Alfa Romeo Guilia, which is quickly approaching the best car category. During all these cars I never owned a Corvette until the C7.

Based on the brilliant design alone, I took the plunge into the Vette world and was amazingly surprised with the quality and performance. I had ordered one of the first C7’s with base options because this was my first American car and was unsure about reliability. It turned out so great, I upgraded to a newer C7 with all the options a few years later.

Now the ME comes along with promises of even greater performance. So I signed up to this forum with much anticipation and dreams of acquiring yet another dream machine.

Candidly, with your history of owning Ferraris, Porsches and Lotus, I was a little bit concerned when you bought your first American car, e.g., your 2014 Corvette. I breathed a huge sigh of relief when you replaced it with a 2015 Z-51 Stingray, and now am excited you are planning to get a Corvette ME.

Mike@Criswell has noted the same thing in his Sunday delivery threads, that throughout the C7 gen, he has gotten Porsche, Ferrari, Aston Martin and similar owners to buy their first Corvette — with some also doubling down to buy another one.
