  • Hello

Hi all, I decided to formally join here because it's a nicer environment to discuss the upcoming C8. Hopefully, there's a lot more rationality here than over on CF.

          Thanks all for the welcome.

I think I'll fit in just fine, and those familiar w/ my reputation on CF is to try to be helpful and a voice of reason. Of course, I don't suffer fools lightly, but I'm told by the powers that be here that they don't either.

Foosh, glad to see you here! I've missed your intelligent and "rational" insight. I've even gone back to the CF to see if I could pick up on some of your thread responses. Like you, and many of us here, we just got tired of beating a dead horse over and over again! Are you considering trading your 2019 Z51 C7 Vert for a mid-engine C8?

Thanks Bill and Shadow, both for the welcome and for your kind remarks.

Yes Bill, I'm very much interested in acquiring a C8. I do hope it's available with a 3rd pedal. I tried to love a Porsche w/ PDK, and a Jaguar F-Type, which is only available as an auto (ZF8) w/ paddles, and while they were both excellent, I missed the joys of manuals too much. As a result, I'll probably hold on to my '18 Z51 M7 convertible for a good long while, but I'm pretty sure we'll add a C8 to our stable within a year or two after intro. My wife is enthralled with at least some of the renders, so it might end up as her almost daily driver.

Foosh, regarding your wife liking some of the renderings, was told by someone who has seen the car, “you can not imagine how good it looks while standing next to it.”

He added that while he loves the latest renderings, after seeing and walking around it, he totally agrees with fvs’ comment about his own renderings, when fvs posts, “GM will do much better at its reveal,”

Your wife is going to be very happy driving around in here mid engine If you/she choose to go that way.

Hmmm John, sounds like we may have been talking to the same person. BTW, the FVS rendering was not among my favorites even though I suspect it is close, but I believe the real version will be far more pleasing to me. I'm a big fan of the CarScoops version.

So glad to see you on the MECF!! You and I met on that other forum 16 years ago and I always have appreciated your calm rational thoughts on everything Corvette.

                            Enjoy it to the fullest.
