  • Hello Fellow Corvette Enthusiasts!

Hello Everyone, I received an invite to this forum from Corvette Blogger. Thank you so much for the invite! I am very interested in the Mid Engine Corvette and the prospect that it might actually be here in 2020! Oooh Can't wait!
I have loved Corvettes since the 5th grade. Even though my parents said they would not buy me a Matchbox car as they were only for boys, I saved my pennies and bought some anyway; I still have my little Corvette. From the age of five, I helped my dad work on our family cars and was always fascinated with the engines and how they work, and also followed the designs of high end cars. My parents were not into cars at all, but took us to car shows as it was a free event for kids. I developed a real love for the various designs of cars from all time periods. I remembering trying real hard to persuade my dad into buying a new Plymouth Superbird. I even got the salesperson at the dealership to come over and talk to my dad. My dad, of course, was mad and said , "No."
It took a while but one of my toy cars grew up and became my 2002 Z06. I have had my Z06 since 2001 when they first came out; it still makes me smile. I just love the sound of a balanced and full noted American V-8! That rumble is so awesome!
I have other cars and belonged to five car clubs at one time.(2 were for Corvettes) I have been itching for another car but will wait a little longer since the ME Corvette is expected in 2020. Yipee!
I am thrilled to be a part of this forum and love the articles that have been posted. They are excellent! Thank you again for inviting me!

MReid, your backstory was truly fascinating. Good for you to do/become what you wanted! I too came from a family where cars were, as my Dad used to say, “just a tool to get from one place to another.” Little did they know that their resistance to my buying Car & Driver from my own earning, sparked a many decades Corvette obsession. However, when my Mom was 90, I took her for a very spirited ride on curvy country roads and she keep saying, “go faster sonny.” So I did. When she was 98, she saw our silver C6 Z06, and said, “you bought yourself a race car.”

We are glad you joined us. You are far from alone in being a female here. We treasure all members who love Corvettes, and so, welcome MReid!

And you are also far from being the only one who is super interested in the upcoming ME. We will be a source and a place for many to share info about it.
2023 Z06: Elkhart Lake Blue, 2-tone blue interior, HTC, Standard Z06 with Z07 aero pkg, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, every visible carbon fiber option including wheels, Jake Design Pkg. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 25 year NCM members. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

I love your story! Glad your mom loved the drive! That is so cool! Yes, our fast cars are race cars. Yeah!
Oh, BTW, I have raced in the past, and also been a judge for international college student's car solo racer car designs.
        So, yes, I love cars.
Thank you for your wonderful words. I truly treasure them.
(I just learned how to see the replies to my posts today at lunch. I am now caught up. I don't always have a lot of time to post, etc. since I have to work to support my car habit. LOL)

Thank you to everyone for your wonderful welcome. Only a few more hours until the C-8. Ohh!!! Ah!!! Can't wait.
I got my local Corvette Car Club to see the unveiling as a group at a restaurant on their big screen tvs. (We are on the west coast in So Cal so the time is not too late.) We are all very excited and sitting on the edge of our seats.
I attend lots of car events. The ones by car designers and the unveiling of new cars are my favorite, so this is super exciting.
