  • Friday Night Videos: The C8 ME at the Ring

Here is something new and it makes a nice way to close out this busy week of C8 news.

A new video was posted today on YouTube that features the C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes running on the Nurburgring. Some really good sounds coming through as the mid-engine Corvettes run on the track and you can see it passing some other cars as well.

We (or should I say I) have previously identified car #479 as a convertible.

High camera mount and one can see the letterbox spoiler, at 0.22 in the video.

Looking at this image I can only hope that it's foam under the camo wrap causing all those very sharp creases.

And that a new video is always a good thing.

Looking again -- guess what? 2 different cars are in play.

There is a coupe as well. See 0:34 or 1:16

I do not know what caused your uploading issue ( atempprary internet axis shift?), but I was able to do it easily.

You have so skilled it doing it before, so I truly do know what caused tonight’s aberration. This method works beautifully for me.

          https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...s-in-your-post

          And two keys for all:

          * Do not use the camera icon (top left); and,

*If you are choosing an image to be included within your post along with any text, it is critical that your “cursor” is exactly where you want it to be within your post before one starts the picture upload process. And if you are intermixing text with pictures, after each picture you have uploaded, again insure your cursor is exactly where one want the next picture to be.

That high pitch sound is certainly curious. Still wondering if there is more than one powerplant testing here?

I thought I used to just click on the picture icon and then would get a choice to link or upload. Did that change or am I going bonkers?

I gave it a good listen again with headphones. All I'm hearing is a consistent engine sound overlaid when turning, with tire noise.

                    Probably so, wishful thinking perhaps...

Love the many ways we are sleuthing, all trying to progressively peel back the layers of the onion.

GM could fix all this will a reveal... Say, October 1st

Is the rear spoiler movable when the ca is at speed? I stopped the video in a few places and looked like, to me, that while the car is at speed the rear spoiler is shifted a few inches backward into a "long tail" position. Maybe that's just me, but it looked like that and that it is somewhat movable.

OK. Looked again a few hours later. It's at 1:05. Looks like some blur from a slow shutter speed may have caused the spoiler to appear longer relative to the body, than when the car is photographed stationary. 1:05 is shown in post #1 above, same frame.
