  • FVS’ ME New Rear Rendering

How Exciting: FVS’ Latest Rendering of the Rear Quarter View of the 2020 ME!

It is amazing how those quality Sportscar 365 C8.R pictures we saw about ten days ago, and then those C8.R pictures separately obtained, and then clarity/contrast enhanced by CorvetteBlogger, have helped us though fvs’s incredible skills, to have this latest ME rear quarter rendering.

I see that fvs used used for this rendering, the rear window deck from a McLaren, for it very closely resembles similar side vents as seen on both those sets of pictures of the C8.R. And I also noticed that fvs also used the same lower vent/intake trim, in the same general location, as the rear ram air intake on the C8.R.

fvs that is one exciting rendering. Fantastic job. Your skills are amazing.

For sure this ME is the culmination of a 50+ year Corvette ME dream. Thank you fvs for sharing it on MECF.

                  ^^thanks for the kind words.

This is rendering is only an approximation of the actual car. Many details remain unknown. As John said, the rear deck can only be guessed at from what we know so far. The McLaren mp12 seems to have a similar design in both coupe and spider form as we can see and guess from the spy pics.

The rear “spoiler” looks to be a built in unit with a possible blown design reminiscent of the 488. May or may not be active. There is a suggestion of light coming from under the spoiler that makes me wonder about this.

the rear lights will no doubt be different and more interesting. I simply used the familiar C7 style suggesting as a do- me- til.

Of of course the real car will be much more refined and dynamic but this at least gives an idea of the stance, and features positioned and proportioned like the 360 pics.

One thing seems about C8ME It does not appear that it will be a timid car. Should definitely be an attention getter

Each new rendering brings us closer to the full alignment of the moons. Thanks FVS for your explanation of how you arrived at composing your drawing and noting the unknown areas and assumptions.

One thing I am pleasantly pleased with is the rear radiator exhaust ports. On the paint shop images of the rear facia you really don’t get an appreciation of the depth and strength of the body lines. But on the latest c8r images, you can see the angles and accent lines are very strong and dynamic.

I hope we get a little more information and sneak peek of the rear deck and spoiler area soon. I think we will see a very refined recessed spoiler This car looks to have some very nice sculptural lines. Aggressive but pleasing

I'll be very interested in how the rear window and engine cover are treated. This could be pivotal in how much "exotic" is defined in the design. In my opinion the glass over engine trend started with Ferrari's 360 Modena and displays the exotic engine to its max in all its beauty and power.

And if so, the engine cover needs to be a “piece of jewelry” (which is how GM refers to the C7’s headlights), as opposed to a cheap looking piece of grey/black plastic.

Or, smartly, an aftermarket company will give us a beautiful option. No blob plastic for me.
