  • Favorite Daily C8 Picture

We are going to sticky this thread, and the parameters of this thread are two:

    1) We get to post a maximum of one C8 picture per day (though commentary and questions are welcomed).

    2) If not already posted in one of our exterior or interior colors threads, and it would be apropos to post it there, that would be appreciated.

Here is my daily picture, with a question, does this mean that whatever color you get for your car, that the factory will program the start up display to show your C8 in your color, e.g., the ELB?

Well that begs the question, is the image of the C8 seen here on the display Elkhart Lake Blue? When I took this photo at Connell I was wondering the same thing, but the animation flashes by quickly and I could not get a good read on the color. After this C8 appeared on the display I tried to make it appear again by opening and closing the doors and strangely the animation did not appear again within my 5 minutes of seat time. It seemed to be triggered the first time by closing the driver's door. Since I couldn't get it to happen again I was left confused by what exactly prompted the animation in the first place.

Other than ordering mine with body color accents, this is pretty much how mine should look.

Remember the C6 had a customizable Welcome Message on start up, which unfortunately disappeared on the C7? How cool would it be if you could upload your favorite image to be displayed on the C8 when firing up the car.

Yeah, somebody somewhere would probably upload an >ahem< objectionable pic, but that's on them.

          .
OK, back to the purpose of this thread -- I've always liked this shot of a Torch Red with Z51 package. Shows the stance beautifully. To me, this is what it's going to look like when I pull up to the start of my first autocross using my upcoming C8. It will probably be the first one appearing in local competition and will draw more than a little bit of interest to see how she performs.

Mine will have Trident wheels and body color mirrors & spoiler, but the overall impression will be the same.

Photo by Mark Madion and thanks to Meyerweb for uploading the pics to this thread.

That Torch Red C8 is beautiful! Thank you very much Klinn for posting it.

Our first hearing of the great C8 stance was from c7pimp. He noted its stance was very close to, at that time, Aston Martin only ME concept car.

He was so correct. I love the stance of the C8 with is lower front and high rear fenders. And for owners of Z51 models, the ability to fine tune wheel gap amounts for each corner is terrific, especially coupled with the E60 lift option.

Nice shot. If only it was on its way to Canada. >sigh<

From this lower angle, the front wheel doesn't look quite as "tucked" compared to a higher vantage point. I've been looking at some other rear 3/4 photos and wondering if it needed longer studs and spacers to bring the wheel out closer to flush.

And Tadge said unto his flock "Despair not, mid-engine salvation is at hand". And lo, the C8 did reveal its form, and there was much joy throughout the land.
