  • C8 Display at Concours D'Elegance of America

There was a long line to get in: everyone wanted to see the C8. Lots of 4k files in the attachments. I wanted to try to capture some angles that other people have not, a few things I discovered:
    • Overall C8 looks much better in person that any photos I have seen, the side scoops work.
    • iPhone XSmax fits in the wireless charging area between the seats.
    • GT1 and comp seat have no lumbar, back of GT1seat is textured black plastic, GT2 and Comp have carbon black.
    • Black and red calipers are gloss, yellow and darker red are satin
    • Large vent at bottom of rear window (seems to be much better engine cooling than conv, does that impact the availability of a TT conv?)
    • Under the plastic engine cover is a good looking engine, maybe I’ll take mine off (although foam underside is probably there for HF sound attenuation).
    • I’m not convinced by the CF covers either side of the engine, probably skip that option).
    • Steering wheels feel great, very sold with nice paddle action.
    • Lights are fantastic.
    • Leather on LT3 dash stops well before base of windshield: hopefully this will prevent the peeling issues of the C7 LT3s.

I was there today also. Cars looked great. It much new info but was cool to see it in person. One thing I did notice... The trunk was smaller than I envisioned it from all the “two golf bag” talk. I guess if GM says they fit I believe them but it didn’t look big enough to me. I don’t care about the golf bag thing just trying to give a little perspective on its size.

I have personally seen two full size golf bags in the trunk — with rooom around the sides for squish-ables.

Also I have personally seen a hard airport carry on bag (9”x14”x23” inches flat in the frunk with extra space on top), with an estimated, average of 9”x14x22’ on top of it — but remember the hood slopes so not the same front and back and will not hold a second hard airline carry bag.

I would think that the venting in the rear window on the coupe has nothing to do with engine cooling and therefore you answer to your question would the cooling on the convertible would not be affected. The vent is most likely to vent moisture from smogging up the window as it is also to help cooling. Also I do believe there are vents on rear deck lid of Vert.

Thanks for the pics, that was certainly a cool event to show off the Vettes.

I'm kind of amazed that with all the pics that been taken in all the locations by many different people, we still haven't seen the inside of the center console or glove box. How much will they hold? Is there a slot for the PDR memory card in the glove box like the C7? Inquiring minds and all that.
