CORVETTE TODAY - Kevin Mackay Talks About The Cunningham Corvette & Bringing It Back To Life

In 1960, Briggs Cunningham took 3 Corvettes to France to race at Le Mans. After that race, the cars were brought back to the United States, put back to original and sold to consumers. The #3 car was recovered about put back to the way it was when it raced in 1960 at Le Mans and is owned by a private owner. https://youtu.be/_g_9Eah8pS8; https://podcasts.adorilabs.com/corve...FbtXiohpLYxLCh The car is owned by Bruce Meyers of the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. But what happened to the car? After a long legal battle, Kevin Mackay from Corvette Repair in Long Island, New York, has been putting this historic Corvette back to it's original 1960 livery for the past year (after it was purchased by Briggs Cunningham's family at auction). Kevin comes back on CORVETTE TODAY to tell the story of the Cunningham Corvette and to tell you when and where you can see this car...with its two siblings! • New ITW Video - Young Man Absolutely Gushing on the C8

I absolutely love this video clip! You have a young man, who happens to be a Mustang owner, absolutely gushing over the new C8 at a gas station. I cued the video to start at the point where he shows the clip of the C8. You get a start up exhaust note as well as a take off throttle leaving the gas station. Enjoy!

NOTE: If the video doesn't automatically cue the start at the 12:53 mark, you might want to move to that mark rather than listen to 12 minutes of chatter.

Thank you Jag, and specifically for the boost for us to jump to 12:53. I love their enthusiasm about the car, especially their calling it at least five times “looks like a Ferrari.” Good for them to know about McLarten’s rear brake dual calipers.

Based on this one sample (which we all know is not even close to sufficient), GM’s goal of attracting new and younger buyers could well be an explosive hit!

That driver looks like he has had enough of this and can't wait for the reveal haha. .

I can not blame them for wishing the reveal were yesterday. Test drivers hate the interior cladding most of all, because locating the right switch under it is a PIA.

Thanks jagamajajaran for posting. They clearly heard the front end scrape. And what was going on with the frunk? What was the whistling noise?

We've heard that whistling in a few videos now. Sounds like they might have some ZO6es on the road.

Look at the video when he shows the hood there looks to me there is a new bump where there is an air intake they have covered up in camo.

                    Great vid... thanks for sharing!

Love the enthusiasm and interest. Pretty cool when the guy says, “...you know the engine’s in the back right?”

As this video demonstrates (and we all know), seeing the car in person is a totally different experience than watching videos, or admiring the great renders that have been done.

Just a few more days! But I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing the C8 in person!!

According to c7pimp, the Z06’s hood has a double air exiting ducts. He calls them powerful and polarizing, though noted he like them. He compared them to somewhat like Lotus Exige ducts (foreground). Picture thanks to “EVO.”

That would be very menacing I do agree. Wouldn't shock the Corvette world if they showed this now instead of a year from now. Wishfull thinking I know but one can dream!
