  • A Black C8 “Stingray At Dusk”

Ever since the Carscoops third/last set of pictures came out today, I am hearing or seeing folks start to call the C8 a Stingray.

At my Corvette club tonight someone who has seemed disinterested in the C8 before today, said, “I really like the Stingray name for my C7, and based on today’s Carscoops interior pictures from today, I think that Stingray would again be a good name for the C8.”

Earlier Carscoops picture, one re-featured in their today article. https://www.carscoops.com/2019/07/ex...ind-the-wheel/

Do both of these folks know something? Or mere happenstance.

That looks absolutely over the top and menacing in black. Thanks Chaz WOW. I definitely like the looks better than the C7-Though there is nothing wrong with the looks of the C7.

Car looks killer in black. I had not noticed the stingray pattern in the seat before.

Aside from the color, the C8 actually embodies a Stingray far more than the C7. With all its flowing curves and swooping lines. The C7 was more aggressive more like a Mako Shark ,chiseled. The C8 design is very fluid from front to back. Apparently the interior too.

With the engine moving from in front of the cockpit to behind it, "Stingray" could become "Ray Sting", with a space in between like the C2.

People would immediately know it was referencing the new mid engine series, not the past front engine cars.

Maybe not an official name, but a nickname.

Black is always slick although Ill pass this time around.

one black corvette in a lifetime is enough...

even though I have the wash and spray wax weekly ritual down to 12 minutes flat...

Excuse me as I have to go wash my black corvette this morning as it rained yesterday while I was out.

All these color decisions. Had planned ordering a Torch Red C7, but after seeing the reveal model with all the black trim we did LRG w/Kalahari. Have been planning Torch Red w/Black this time around, but seeing what appears to be the Natural (tan) interior, am considering replicating the 79 we ordered, Black w/Light Beige.

This picture shows even more of the seat Stingray pattern.

We seem to be on a color tack and I'm curious which color we would pick on our C8? I'm leaning towards Shadow Grey with the blue interior.

I have always been a red Corvette or any sports car red color Guy. With Black interior But I am thinking Ceramic White with red interior. The main reason I like black interiors as opposed to other colors in the interiors in the C7 is I do not like the split colors. Half the color of choice combined with black. Really looks bad , TO ME, especially in the LT1 where the seats are the color of choice and the whole rest of the car 's interior is black. Looks like someone put in the wrong seats at 4 45 PM on a Friday.

To continue on the color theme ... I've always liked my DD to be non metallic to make fixing the inevitable chips easier to repair, so I'm leaning towards torch red, but I'm intrigued with the new rapid blue. My C4 roadster was Medium blue/blue interior/white top and my C3 is ... well you see my avatar. So many choices

Funny, but after seeing the last set of teasers from GM I'm wondering if the Stingray logo in those leaked interior shots is another bit of misdirection from GM. The sheer volume of Zora logos in those stills and videos, and the Zora logo on the coins, has me thinking maybe they are going to call this car the Corvette Zora.

On color, I'm still hoping for something close to Atomic Orange or Daytona Sunrise Orange in year 2 or 3.

Based on the reason why they called the C7 a Stingray, I'd like to see a different name for the C8 since it is going to be so different from all other Corvettes.
