We spied this video tonight of a C8 Corvette driving on I94 and instantly recognized the driver as Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles!

While I was writing up that blog post for CorvetteBlogger, our friend jagamajajaran noticed something else in this quick 11-second video.

Check out the driver’s side mirror and you can see it’s illuminated with the amber-colored Blind Zone Alert which seems to confirm that the C8 Corvettes will offer that option along with the Lane Departure warnings that are available on other GM models.

Being the Corvette Marketing and Product Manager definitely has its perks, one of which is getting to drive around town in a C8. Go, Harlan, Go!

And once again, Harlan delivers another consumer requested feature.

      And check out the scoop...

Interesting, that looks like it would keep the scoop way back and off the door.

Look at the screen shot. Maybe something, maybe nothing, but something to debate for sure.

All one has to do is recall the CAD drawings that were released ages ago. The scoop was way back towards the rear tire well. If one looks at this shot, that's were it is also. Not where the fake one is.

Cool... and great catch on both Harlan driving, and the BZA.

A bit of confusion around the word "scoop"- the OP was pointing out that the driver mirror has what appears to be a yellow triangle at one point. Potentially indicating a lane departure warning system will be part of the C8. The other posts are focusing on the actual scoop on the side of the car.

That side scoop does indeed look pushed back from what we've seen. There is a better view of it if you freeze the video a bit longer from the the above screen shot. Also, this car is either black or the A pillars will be black like on the C7s.

Thanks for the pic. It almost looks like the camo is peeling back at the base of the A-pillar and behind the front wheel.
Maybe if Harlan drove faster we would get a better view of what's under there.
