C8 Corvette headlight speculation

It occurred to me that GM possibly might be taking inspiration from the Cadillac headlights, that could help out with the renders, I believe it’s the current headlights ent that throws it off for me .

My XTSvsport has Adaptive Headlights. The lights turn their beams around each bend in the road, giving you a better view of what's ahead. Maybe the C8 will have that?

Right that would be cool to see, but I meant in the sense of design lenguaje as well, how the headlights on cadillacs go up vertically on the lateral sides and at the top corner it slopes down at an angle ; referring to the DRL

I hope they don't have them. My CTS-V and ATS-V have them and they have a lot of issues pointing correctly. sometimes one is looking for squirrels in the trees and the other is checking out mailboxes. Then the next time you start the car they are aimed correctly. Both cars do it. 12K miles on one and 6K on the other. I'll take a straight LED anytime.

i think the headlamps are pretty much cooking in at this point. Unless the CAD drawings and all the details visible on the camo Ring cars and NY camo car is totally fake, they will look essentially like the rendering in the banner.

Of course details will be different. I think there will be more dramatic lines and deeper sculpted cuts to the lamps and surround as well as the fender flairs and flutes that they sit in.

Yes, I remember that sketch well (think it was the original C8 design sketch). It was partially occluded in the first teaser by part of “7.18.19” overlay, but fvs fixed that for us creating the above. I do not remember if it was also in the second teaser.

We have them on one of our DD’s, a 2017 Mzada 3 GT, and they worked beautifully 100% of the time. As we live in the country with tons of dear and other wildlife darting across the roads especially around early light and dusk/early nighttime, they are a great safety asset. Hopefully if the Corvette has them, they would be an updated/improved design that also works flawlessly.

Our CTS has them too. So far we have not had any trouble with over 30,000 miles. I’m with you though that I don’t really want it on the C8.

In reality, laser headlamps are not really any better than the high output LEDs. After you diffuse the laser enough so it doesn't blind anyone.. it has no real advantage.

Mitsubishi tried to market "laser" DLP tv sets as being brighter and better but were more expensive and LEDs were just as good.
