  • New Chazcron Front Renderings, Both With and Without Center Inset Being Body Colored

Thanks Chaz for another set of parallel renderings. They allow us to focus on what a singular different chosen option might visually result in. Very nice!

I asked my artist/gearhead wife (that is an interesting combo for a person), as to what she preferred. She said the black one, for it makes the car look meaner. Agreed? Disagree?

Separately, looking at the hood, that is one intricate design. Which got me to further thinking and remembering the hood stripe options listed on the leaked specs (three racing stripes, e.g., “Stripe Package, Full Length Racing — in the three options of “Carbon Flash, Midnight Silver, and Sterling Silver”), might that already three dimensional hood not want two racing stripes in addition?

    Your thoughts/choices please?

Chazcron, in some future renderings, and apologies if I have missed this in your past ones, might you please consider changing the emblem package from chrome to black, as in?

Re the question of the center grille inset body colored or black, my wife and I have a wonderful agreement, that I pick 100% of the performance options, and that for all visual ones, she first gets input and if I need further “education” that I am going off the rails (again), she also has complete veto power. This has worked flawlessly on all our vehicles and our mods for many decades. I am not going to turn stupid right now as to “what looks best”. Most of the time when I ask, her response is “which do you prefer,” but if it is “that will not work,” I know I am about to crash and burn, especially as many of you know that I am both a “color defective” and also to compound things, got a “D” in 4th grade art.

We remember Zerv02 saying the hood of the C8 was polarizing, which was his exact word. He added that he liked it. I do too.

Ah, I was like JB and couldn't really tell any difference. That is, until you mentioned the center grill area, then I focused in on what you were pointing out.

To be honest, the body-colored example looks too much like an '80s Trans Am! My preference is for the black opening...

This is for John or for anyone that remembers. When was the Z51 option available for the C7? I have a '15. Even though I won't track my C8 that's the model I want. Any ideas based on past practice when that option will be available?

Z51 was available on the C7 starting in 2014.

Black gives some contrast and looks great IMHO. I wonder how stripes will look on C8 hood. May be overpowering with the currently anticipated hood design. Heidi

                          I like the blacked-out grill.

I also think that a range of stripe options will look good on the C8.

I also like the blacked out grille. The hood has too many character lines for me. Of the 4 lines, I would remove 2, pick either set of 2 out board, or inboard, and I think it will look better.

Maybe having two hood character lines is what GM will reveal to us? Isn’t it interesting that for all the tens of thousands of hours we have individually and collectively thought and conversed about the C8, in most ways we know nothing definitive?

Can we name one important spec other than tire size, something that we learned 10 months ago, that we have learned since?
