[SPIED] New Pics of the C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes in Ohio and Florida

New photos from everybody’s favorite Corvette_Nut on the Corvette Forum show four C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes in the wild as ongoing testing of the next-generation sports cars continues in at least two different states.

Posting on 4/17, Corvette_Nut wrote: Apparently, they are still out and about road testing throughout this Great Nation! So Be On The Lookout…..

    First up, Loudonville, Ohio:

And then down to Naples, Florida:

Yesterday morning, he posted this pic of two C8s in Bonita Springs, Florida with the following caption, “Exactly Three Months Until The Big Day…..”

We’ve seen the C8s down in southwest Florida around the Naples area previously and we all remember the Corvette ZR1s when they were making multiple runs across Alligator Alley for testing. Earlier this week we also shared a video showing a caravan of C8 Corvettes heading north in Kentucky. Now that the reveal date of 07.18.19 is known, we should start seeing even more testing as engineers put miles on the cars.

Thanks again to Corvette_Nut as he continues to amaze us with great photos of the C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes!

Why last week did we seen one close to no padding and now this one covered up. Maybe a different model? Z51,Z06 ?

Yes, it could well be 2020 model version versus a latter one. Second reason is that the camo is 100% put on and taken off at one GM facility, and as those on the roads have been made over the last 9 months, they could also be experimenting with different camo’s; or most probably they would rather keep driving them where ever they are rather than shuttling back to the Master of Disguise’s home building for camo upgrades, updates or partial shedding.

As summer comes, we should see a lot more of them testing in South Florida with heat & humid air. I remember in 2003, Ford had a place near Naples that were testing many of their cars during hot summer and then bring them to Sarasota for private drag racing tests.

Roush Engineering offers for OEMs, not just Ford, a “street test driving” program which GM used for extensively for the C7’s development. It is located in Florida though perhaps it has moved from Naples. When we see C8’es testing down Alligator Alley, those could well be driven by Roush employees.
