Once you own a mid engine you won’t go back. That statement is nonsense in my book. Practicality in a mid engine car takes a lot to get used to. I’ve owned a few mid engine cars and find the trunk space in the C7 will be missed . Most people might find a mid engine car as a daily driver a slight pain in the butt. So it depends on your life style and how you might use a mid engine car. If anything the C8 might still be a older man’s car and treated as a week end toy.

lets see a 914/6 cyl ..308 GTB...308 GTi...05 Ford GT no storage space compared to the C7. Parking those cars at a HD forget it. Parking garage entrance ground clearance forget it. Blind spots while driving big time . Maintenance requirements and labor cost very high. Those are just a few everyday practical problems with the older mid engine cars I experienced.

But when needed I’ll use my wife’s suv. If anything the C8 might still be a older man’s car and treated as a week end toy.
Let’s not condemn the 2020 C8’s trunk space until we know how big it is. You and all are going to be very pleasantly surprised.

As that very valid statement goes, “do not judge a book by its cover.”

I like the video JB ... thx. Wrt the trunk space and DD status, I think that GM will give us some usable storage in the C8. My NSX, 308 and even the old Fiero have usable trunks. Of course they are transverse mounted engines, but still think there is going to be some room above the exhaust and behind the engine in the C8. The exhaust is low mounted based on the pix we've seen. When you look at the F cars and Lambos they have their mufflers higher up, that could be a key difference with the C8. Hope so anyway

I wasn’t necessarily referring to the C8 but instead mid engined cars in general. I realize the C8 won’t be plagued like some of the exotic cars with limited trunk space. I’m sure the General will keep us in mind and also the realibity issues as well. Would not expect the C8 to be a money pit like some older mid engine cars were . Except for maybe the NSX. Yep I think I’ll feel pretty comfortable owning and maintaining a C8. But it won’t be a everyday driver either.
