Thanks fvs! Have not seen this one in a while. Those who can wait for the HT Spyder version will be very happy they had the patience to do so.

Looks great. Johnim assuming you have made the determination the retractable hardtop will or might be delayed at the initial launch...

i personally am not dropping the 7500 or wjatever gm is charging for the 100 lb heavier more complicated retractable roof yet i will agree that both top up and top down that spyder version sure does look sweet!

i dont mond lifting off the targa roof as it reminds me of old school plus I get to keep whatever gm determines what the extra cost item retails at.

      really looks great though..

      thanks for sharing..

No facts yet JB, but my personal guess based on that being GM’s pattern the last few years on new generation reveals, is that the HT Spyder’s manufacturing would be later? How much?

I'm crossing my fingers with the modifications to the plant they may be able to produce the HT Vert right from the start.

A little off topic, as my post does not specifically refer to the Spyder configuration. But I definitely don't like that door in these renderings. The air inlet, and that lame forward strake that terminates just behind the steering tires are screwy. I really, really hope that the real car does not look like this. That whole door area looks like a football bat. Just my 2 cents. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, as they say.

The look of the air intakes is anyone's guess, but the upward curving line at the bottom of the door was clearly visible on the cars at the 'ring. Unless, of course, that's more padding under the camo to fool us. Time will tell.

I was fortunate yesterday to have one of my friends park his 458 Spyder next to me. Some pics below. I like the Ferrari treatment of the rear deck and roll over protection better than the Mclaren (pic also attached). The Ferrari roll over "humps" have a more graceful angle on the inner sides. The Mclaren's are almost 90 degrees vertical which makes them look disproportionately tall. I hope the C8 is more Ferrari like ... if not I might just go with the targa option.

Thanks Bobby Tina by. Very interesting how the McLaren and the Ferrari are different. My best guess, is that the C8’s are more like the Ferrari’s based on these picture. - and perhaps even more graceful than that. If so, so hard to tell with the camo, it is because with the C8’s camera system, GM might be less concerned about rear quarter and rear view visibility than both.
