I can see the merits of pushing the air to the side radiators. The black-out one made me realize there should be a little flourish there. Diving into pure speculation here. And if that fairing is there, I have a render that shows it. What do you think?

think your’re on to something with that. Also, it occurs to me that that center section could be a separate facia piece that could be factory optioned to be paint either body color or black. If not than it could be painted/covered by the owner at their discretion like many of us did to cover the C7 chrome ‘braces’ bar.

The sound aero practice of taking the air received by the center area of the grille and routing it to the outside of the car is seen in this Corvette ME picture and later in the Ferrari Pista video. I believe the exhaust point of that air is shown in this MotorAuthority picture.

Just my 2 cents but I hope GM is not going with the squared off rear end. Today’s mid engine cars are going with more flowing lines . The C7 rear in my opinion Is too squared off. Evolution of the design needs to have more rounded corners and tips of fender lines.
These are the "make-most-sense" side vents, yet. And this render of the side vents is heads and shoulders above and superior to what we [are allowed to] see in the pictures and video of the C8 test mules in camo. And too these renders show an element of "stance" for the first time in this render process. Takes time.
That center piece could well be an entry level component, and thus not on the Z06+ versions, for this is what we saw early on fo the front fascia.

Totally agree with you MikeC8 about both our C7’s squared off rear, and the upcoming C8’s needing to be more bird-eye view curved! This rendering shows more C8 curvature than the C7’s.
