  • 2020 C8 Emblem

Again thanks to xXColorShiftXx pointing our way to the key fob, we know see for the first time the C8’s emblem.

A little tighter V as was predicted, but additionally, a more three dimensional emblem. Nicely, it does not having the C5’s surrounding circle which made bug, dirt and wax cleaning such a PIA.

Thank you also to Road&Track for finding this all for us; I love that it was uncovered as an FCC filing, so again, putting any photoshop theories to bed.

As to the emblem, I thank a little birdie who whispered to me, about the beginning of the summer, some things about the emblem, all borne out in this picture,

A comparison to the C7’s emblem:

How many of us, when we got our Corvettes, would make “one more trip” out to the garage to see it one last time, before we went to sleep. One of my friends, who has a lazy chair in his cave, told me that when he got his C7, that he would go out there at the end of his evening, sit in that chair, and just stare at it. Once he woke up in the middle of the night, having fallen asleep in his special chair next to his special new Corvette.

Anyone every admit to sleeping in their new-to-them Corvette?

Let' s get back on point here.... With all the stuff we're seeing (or not seeing) like no sightings, no teasers, no leaks, GM's recent announcement, Mary going 'head to head' with Trump, the Detroit Auto show just around the corner, etc..... Anyone remember the 1983 model year Corvette???

I just throw this out for all of you out there who are quick to play the 'that's not how they did things in the past' card..... With that said, I 'm still on the list at two dealers....
2020 HTC Torch Red with lots of goodies. Built in September. Museum Delivered in October......

Other toys in the garage: Ferrari California, BMW i8 Roadster, Bentley Flying Spur, Chevy SSr

Great story John. Thanks for sharing and I’ve done the goodnight routine many times. My wife thinks I’m talking to myself when I say goodnight.
                OK back on topic.

A good idea, that we get back on point to this thread’s title, the C8 emblem’s reveal. Thank you.

And as always, anyone can start a new thread at any time.

I think the last time I slept in a car I was 18. Had gone with my girlfriend to stay with some acquaintances in Ocean City, Md ("Drop in any time, the place is always open!") Got there only to discover the "place" had burned to the ground. 18 years old, no money to speak of, slept in a Datsun 1200 on the parking lot of a golf course.

This is even the right color, but the girlfriend's didn't have these fancy wheels or hood pins. And it was left hand drive

The emblem is a very important component that indicates provenance like a family crest. Like john, I think this is a very critical that Corvette gets this right. There seems to be a hierarchy in it's look of speed and aggression which I like a lot. There seems to be a mathematical logic to the ratio of width to height of it when viewing straight on. The C6 emblem had a width to height ratio of 100% to 33%. The C7 emblem had a width to height ratio of 100% to 66%. And the new C8 emblem now has a width to height ratio of100% to 100%. No doubt there is a mathematical logic that is going on here. A definite logarithmic expansion that was well thought out. Kudos to Team Corvette for developing details that go deep into artform.

I like the emblem but would really like seeing what the US flag would look like on the C7 or C8 instead of the fleur-de-lis .. Anyone ? Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_2880.PNG Views:	1 Size:	724.0 KB ID:	17235

Are you ever smart Skank for first noticing mathematical progression, and second, explaining it to us so we can understand it clearly.

I absolutely agree. While Louis Chevrolet was born in France, we have no other Corvette connection to his birth and the country of France. Even more bizarre is that his parents were not both French, and he considered him Swiss and when he raced, was most often as a driver for Switzerland. And he was born literally 140 years ago.

Time for the American flag to be included in our Corvette emblem, for what flag do you see on a C7.R?
