  • New “Chazcron“ C8 Rendering

Here is an exciting new rendering by new MECF member “Chazcron.”

His earlier rendering of a few days ago was featured here.

    https://www.midenginecorvetteforum.c...side-me-render

That earlier one can be seen here.

Since then he has done a new one, including it considering this picture from AutoEvolution.

And so nicely, here is chazcron’s today’s rendering. Yes; yes!!!

To me, it brings back memories of the CERV III, and as the ME was completely finished under GM’s VP of Global Design, Ed Welburn, known for his periodically “echoing” past notable GM designs, this could well be seen on the revealed ME. chazcron notes that he used the 1956 Corvette as his basis for the render.

Chazcron noted that he chose to use some “ground reflection” in his picture.

The more I look at this, the more I am seeing the C1’s coves “repeating,” as Charcron noted in his original presentation.

Coves are an iconic part of Corvettes’ C1 heritage, and as the first ME Corvette prototype was done during the C1 era, we could well see the coves, flipped in reverse onto the rear fender, being part of the ME’s revealed design.

Early on C7pimp said the bottom of the scoop was curved. What he said could be consistent with the image above.

Looking very closely at the inset above, it appears the scoop goes to a slightly softened corner.

Too smooth. I hope they keep some of the C7 origami look.

I agree, appears much more angular c7ish to me in camo

I really like the scoop design from Chazcron and I never really saw the similarities between the ME scoop and the C1 cove design until now. Of course, Chevy has been hiding it behind that camo, but this makes a lot of sense. Looking forward to posting these and seeing the feedback we get.

That was/is funny. That would be an extreme version. Just the 1 1/2” lift version like McLaren and Porsche offer would be nice. Hope we get such an option.

Nicely done.....if that is it, I can wait for the Grand Sport. If they make a Widebody, I hope they use “real” front fender flares like on the C6.
