Like others I applaud this forum for being transparent and bringing these issues into the light

I believe this helps us all including GM and the Corvette Team.

The Corvette teams intent re: resellers was a good one. I am sure they will fix this and learn from what was a more complex implementation then we all appreciated.

    Let's not penalize the messengers.

Caveat emptor. Would you have missed it?

We need to hear from "victims" who were unable to exercise their award. You say maybe "hundreds or thousands of Z06 owners" didn't know. Guess we will hear from some of them.

This is a funny topic. So many people today have acquired an entitlement mentality. Maybe it’s from the millennial generation, helicopter moms, or have it your way right away consumer advertising.

Either way it’s clear that many think businesses should be required to put the customers’ best interest first. Unfortunately that’s not true. Only Lawyers, Doctors, and Fiduciary Financial Advisors are required to.

GM doesn’t want you to claim the reward if they can sell the car without you noticing, and they obviously are not having any trouble selling corvettes. Dealers also don’t care if you get the reward. Every business is out to make the most profit for the least effort. Buyer beware; we have to do our own due diligence.

Neither is. It would be all on me.
I get those types of promotion and they are far more clear. The "do this, get XX beneft" is much more direct than this program. In the world of carrot and stick, those programs are carrots to get you to become a customer or give them your data. This program is really a stick to beat you into not flipping the car. MM had me sign the warranty/points waiver at two different times (allocation offered, and again at actual purchase). Nothing on the Chevy release form says you can only lose the points if you previously already signed up for MyChevy rewards, or that one must sign up for the points with 30 days of purchase. I remember the first e-mail at the very beginning announcing this program. The e-mail was very thin on details. I've been a MyChevy member for a while, so I expect to get my points. But I could see a lot of people signing the 6-month release and assuming everything was good w/o realizing they were bargaining with something they were never going to get.

This might be a dealer issue as far as implementation went, but GM needs to fix it. It's GM program. If it is going to last beyond this model year, GM needs to revamp its communication to Z06 buyers and make things clear; or make dealers handle the program as a carrot and not a stick.

When I got the e-mail that your allocation is available; I was thinking about configuration; not that there was an extra step to get the points. When my car came, again the focus is on payment, trade-in, and pick-up logistics. It's not like the points should show up on the bill of sale and you can see they're missing from the document.

I missed out on my points for my 2020 Stingray because I didn't sign up for the rewards program on time. The points were minuscule compared to the 500,000 for the Z06. I’m good to go on my Z06 now tho.

Great News ...In a recent Speed Phenom video Austin states that Chevy has reached out to him and he is expecting them to resolve the problem for him amd others that were not aware of the 30 and 45 days windows.

For new owners please ensure that you are aware of the specifics in the note from Chevrolet posted at the beginning of this stream by John.

I don't recall where I first read about it or noticed it but it did say something to the effect of having or needing a MyChevroletRewards account. So I created one July of 2022. I still have the original email from when I created it. I just went into my account today and added my Z06s VIN I received recently and it accepted it.

I am amazed on here how many dealers are not keeping up with making sure their customers are getting the GM awards points. Like I said in another post my dealer makes sure I get my rewards points setup that day. It has happened four times since 2014 on four different vehicles. They know that money will be transferred to their service department which goes to their bottom line. Especially the Z06 with $500,000 bonus points that is $5,000 that will be spent at their dealership for parts and service. Why would a dealer pass up that future business?

I had my Z already loaded up on my account and App when I went to pay for my car. The 35,000 points were added the day I wrote the check to the dealer. This was 1 week prior to my picking the car up at the NCM.

I heard nothing about problems with Z06 reward points at purchase only about problems with the Z06 ownership loyalty program that clicks on after 6 months of ownership.

What is troublesome is that in fact there are TWO required signups necessary to qualify and receive the 500,000 points: being in the My Chevrolet Rewards program, which Austin was, AND checking off a box after the purchase to specifically include the Z06 purchase in the My Chevrolet Rewards, which Austin had not done and wasn't made aware of at the time. This 'catch 22' designed into the rewards program was a -IMO- very poor decision by GM regardless of its logic. I am glad to see that GM is taking steps to rectify this.

My dealership (Criswell) signed me up for the GM Rewards program, without mentioning it to me (mine was an out of state purchase, so other than a couple of phone calls I never met with them). I assume they register all their customers for the Rewards program.

I got 26,000 points for my C8 purchase, which had a cash value of around $100, as I redeemed those points for a battery jump-starter (worth around $100) off the GM Rewards website.

Mature businesses do not only have one bottom line. The Triple Bottom Line has been part of the Corporate World for decades.

But I agree, too many companies are very singular in their ways… I don’t believe GM does not care about their customers and so see them as more than $$ per customer
