I hope they are, but the likelihood of that could depend upon how GM reports the numbers, or the advertising strategy:

If GM only advertises track and drag strip numbers with the optional CF brakes and CF wheels, they may not worry about the weight of the base wheels.

If they report the base model performance, and also report the Z07 with CF wheels and brakes, then there will incentive for them to lighten the wheels.

Or maybe they do the mag/alum mix and advertise it as a feature (e.g., weighs less than the narrower stingray wheels).

Looking at the C8 Stingray, the oft-shared GM number for under 3.0 to 60 was for the Z51. So might they similarly report the Z07’s times…

We thank CorvetteBlogger and its photographers for giving us clear shots of two different Z06 wheels. We separately concluded yesterday that one of them is made visible carbon fiber (except for its inner barrel). As we know that will be a $10K or maybe a $15K option. The other one is aluminum.

Initial reviews of these wheels seems to be pretty positive by potential buyers. I know I like both.

First revealed a long time ago was the “tuning fork wheel.”

The eBay leaked, visible carbon fiber ones were also revealed a long time ago too, but yesterday became our first proof that they would be on the Z06. Here first is how they appeared at the Nurburgring yesterday, then our earlier eBay pictures. do we call these these easy to clean ones the “twisters,” the five spokers, or can someone come up with a better name for them?

I had a set for my GT 350R and they are expensive. Same company in Australia makes them. they only have one office in the USA in Las Vegas. Carbon Revolution. $24.000 a set.

Count me out @ $24,000 a set. Even if they go on sale for $18,000, count me out. For those who buy them, they will be a visual treat. Best for you; may you never break one.

CF wheels would be nice but for many reasons the forged wheel which is far tougher is the choice in my book as well as still being much lighter and stronger than the other options. Not sure they even make 100 percent Carbon fiber rims I believe it is mostly used in the barrel where the weight has the most effect. After adding forged wheels to my Corvette's. The high price becomes
cheap after you drive and feel and see the advantages they add in straight line power, over all handling, much improved ride, as well as much better looking.

Hope they are not just cast wheels like all the rest.
