Paragon’s Wide Angle/Sequential Mirrors: DIY Videos

Info please before I buy them. Do they retain the blind spot detection mirror interior “light up” when a vehicle is next to you?

Thanks to a video from RearWheelDrive, I learned they retain blind spot detections.

Though it notes one loses Factory Auto Dim.

Blind Spot remains. Additional turn indicators added. You lose auto dimming if you have it. I ordered the blue tint to make up for it. Have had them on for several months now. Great improvement over oem. A little tricky to install, mainly in the cover removal/replacement. Be careful of the clips and be observant of how they mount. The electrical is easy.

I’m considering these as well - anyone know if a RC8 delivery could have the PDI person add these as an add on additional cost ?

I did the exact same thing and have had mine for a year now.... love them!

I did check with Shane about the possibility of having them installed as part of the Museum Delivery option - they do not offer installation of that accessory.

I literally just spent an hour trying to get that darn clip to unhook and couldn't. I watched that Video a hundred times can't get my little screwdriver to move that clip you can't see. I don't need to break anything for a mirror install. Video shows him sticking the screwdriver in, but I don't have clue what that screwdriver is doing.

My rule ... if it takes more than a hour ... it's an hour I can pay my wrench to do. I rather be driving.

Thanks for the Video John. Maybe I’ll try again in few days. It just felt like something will break if pulled to hard. Thought it would be easier.

I did not even use the wiring. I bought the Paragon wide angle mirrors to get more view… especially when I am doing lane changes or turning so I did not want the additional turn signal to chip away some of the additional view when it is blinking. I did not cut the wires of the Paragon mirrors but I could as well have done that

Here’s why I bought them. IMO they are necessary for a HTC if your top is ever down for even with blind spot protectio if a car approaches you from the rear quarter your nacelles will block your view of them. I do not know whether that blocking is from a 30 degree rearward angle or 45 but again not going to take the chance.

I too plan to get them if my allocation ever fills restraints.

The turn arrow indicator is a bit GM kitsch, but I can live with that.

Besides, any additional turn warning, notifying others, can't be harmful.
