  • Tight Garage Car Protection: Another Option

Super tight in my garage. You might have noticed the STOP sign on a stick. It has a ton of LED flashing lights inside of it that light up (motion sensor) if the corner of the car where the dive plane sticks out) touches its stalk. The stalk is wrapped in microfiber at that height and gives me 4” of “grace” before hitting the wall — so I can drive the car in myself safely. Base is moveable. The STOP sign is a $24 item from Amazon if it might be useful for you.

As to the key clue that I gave out 9 months ago that our Z06 had switched from Hypersonic Gray to Elkhart Lake Blue, you might have noticed above the RaceDeck flooring I installed last August.

I had my floor orange and black when I had my inferno orange Camaro. When I ordered the Torch red Vette was going to change to red and Black, but the wife knowing that I might not have that Vette forever made make the floor Black and white so its neutral when I change the color of the car LOL Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_0018.jpg Views:	90 Size:	3.15 MB ID:	485502 Click image for larger version Name:	IMG_2819.jpg Views:	86 Size:	2.00 MB ID:	485503

My garage is not as elegant as John's (pun intended), but to protect my wheels and tires, I used styrine from an insulation panel cut to the height of my concrete foundation and attached with caulking glue. I have the tire shine marks to prove it was a wise move, as I have to nestle up to the wall as tight as possible because my garage isn't very wide. Picture below is the front of the C8--tire shine marks unseen but they are on the rear since I back in.

Very nice.....I simply use my front cameras (3LT) as I approach the final spot within the garage. I have a piece of red tape carefully placed on the floor and I stop right over the tape. Could NOT be any easier for me. My next trick will be to get into a routine of backing the car in......(harder for me for some reason). Anyway - my 2 cents!
