I mentioned in previous post, I waited 18 months for my C8. This equated to a lot of time to buy accessories from lots of MEF vendors and come up with some ideas on what I wanted to do to modify or personalize my car. One thing I wanted on my car was the “JAKE”, I am a fan of Corvette Racing and wanted to represent the brand. I read a great article or post about the origin of the insignia but I can’t remember where I read it. Almost a year ago I saw a C8 at a local car show and asked the owner if I could measure an area on the underside of the rear deck lid. He looked at me funny and I told him I will use a dollar bill (6”) and I won’t touch your car. I went home and found a JAKE insignia on line made it to fit in the area I had measured and printed it. I bought some sheet aluminum and traced the logo on to the metal and started cutting and filling. I finished it with a brushed finish. I put it away and waited for my car. I mounted it with 3M tape. The JAKE actually sits in the trunk area and doesn’t get the heat it would in the the engine compartment area.

That is one wonderful creation. Perhaps you might wish to work with one of our vendors to make it a very sale-able symbol. I would've thought by looking at that, that you CNC'd that. Very impressive.
Going to a vendor to replicate that though would require that you talk to CR I would imagine, as they likely have copyrights /trademarks on that and would want a cut.

My Buddy has a Quick Soft-Pro Metal Laser Cutting Machine he uses for is business.
I'll ask him what would it take ($) if I had a Template

I also read of the origination of this symbol. As I recall they just had a skull and then someone drew the eyes with the Corvette flags, and that became the final version. Your design looks great! Would look good polished, matte finished, or anodized to match the car color or even the popular painted engine covers. SuhweeeeeetComment
