So I found this on facebook *C8 Corvette Owners)...adding the OEM LEDs to my engine compartment today. They are well built and you can tell they were taking into account the heat factor from the mid-engine.

I used a remote relay similar to a non-branded Mild2Wild to supply on and off capabilities. I grabbed power at the rear fuse box and grounded using the "mystery bolt" behind the inside seat bolt. Wiring was ran under the trim that surrounds the rear window up past the seat belt outlet to get into the under-halo area. Then I got the wiring to exit where the factory wiring comes out up top for the camera and rear defroster.

    A few things to note:

    1) LED lights do not come with mounting hardware. Used GM 7mm "screws" and metal fastener "nuts" or Nylon Inserts for Fastening License Plates.

    2) The LED lights do not come with a harness/pigtail. I had to open up the receptacle to be able to solder wiring to the leads directly.

    3) Bonus is that I programmed two of my Homelink buttons to the "on/off" functions of the remote control that came with the relay. Now just like M2W in previous generations, I can control my LED lighting in the engine bay just reaching up.

This is a brilliant Idea! Just what I've been wanting. What fuse did you splice into? I would imagine a "hot" fuse would make those lights operable all the time where as some other fuse might shut off after 10 minutes or so of inactivity?

Like 2021articspeed said, these lights don't come with mounting hardware. I had a few of these kicking around in my workshop so I'm sure you can buy them somewhere?

Anyone wanting to use the proper plugs on the LED lights. If you can find the older style GMC pick-up (2008 - 2014?) at a wrecker that has the 4 box lights, they use the same plugs. If anyone finds another application where these plugs are used, please post up here.

it's not my install just posting for people to have options. You can pick any fuse location between the seats. One thats on only with accessories or constant 12V.

Just an fyi...if you get one of the single button DC relays it will allow you to use just one button on your Homelink. Here's a link to the unit I've used. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0762HH45G...v_ov_lig_dp_it
