    Still E-ray for me.

Im going to wait for a raining track day and dominate all the Z06's and get revenge for the year of hate and E-ray doubting. I'll just be going in between them in slow mo while they are spinning our of control while playing Luciano Pavarotti

If I had the funds to frequently go to the track and this purchase was solely for that use, it would definitely be Z06. At the young age of 31, I simply can't yet comfortably afford the proper upkeep track driving entails (tires, brakes etc).
Interesting. My "other car...which I drive in inclement weather and don't want to take the Sting Ray out....is a 2021 BMW M4 6-speed.....smooth as butter.

I can’t wait to hear if the Eray sounds like a jet turbine as it accelerates.

I have an all electric vehicle that when it accelerates it cracks me up. If the sound level was increased it really would be a fun driving experience inside the Eray cockpit. If not then the z06 will be a preferred choice.

the difference between zero to sixty in 2.8 seconds versus 2.6 or 2.5 is ridiculous at this point. I rarely race to 130 mph so performance above that illegal speed is nonsense as well.

I apologize for being so candid yet having seen and heard a z06 locally this past weekend and it sounded insane.

J.B. I'm with you on the aspect that performance difference at these levels is a bit of a moot point. If you're just street driving, I'll take a more exhilarating car that's 0.5 seconds slower 0-60 all day. I actually ended up trading in my 2013 M3 this weekend for a 2017 Jaguar F Type SVR in the gorgeous Firesand Orange color. That car has so much soul and character, the exhaust is just bonkers and more than enough performance for my daily street driving. I still have my deposit in, but at this point, the E-Ray is really going to have to blow me away between review vids and Carlisle to still move forward with the purchase.

Good choice and congrats! Your comments about "soul and character" and everything else you described about the F-Type are on target. it's also proven to be very reliable. We had a 2014, which was the intro MY, and our experience was flawless. I only sold it because I started missing a manual transmission, and I traded it for a C7 manual convertible.

The F-Type a very fun street machine. It's still my ultimate favorite "high rpms in a tunnel" car of all time. It arguably has perhaps the best exhaust note of all time.

Back on topic, of the 3 C8s, we'd still choose Stingray, if we had to replace our current C8 for some reason.

Thanks Foosh, I got very lucky and looked at the right time. I'm surprised I got as good a deal as I did. My dad had a 2017 in the "R" trim and we had the same great experience. He allowed me to put on most of the 28.5k miles while he owned it and it never skipped a beat. That said, I did buy a warranty for peace of mind.

And yes, back on track here. I can definitely see why you'd still pick the Stingray of the 3 current trim choices. Unless you're a dire track junky in which case Z06 is king, then the Stingray provides all the street performance you want/need and comes with a substantial cost savings over E-Ray and Z06. I absolutely love the wide body look, but its tough to justify that as the main reason in spending well over $30K more. I'd still love an E-Ray, don't get me wrong. We'll see what the future holds.

kavo11 For past Corvette gens, I think the widebody versions have been the best looking. However, for C8, the SR is already is a very wide body. E-Ray and Z06 are just wider bodies, which don't improve the aesthetics of the design in our view.

As for power, you're right, SR is plenty enough for pure street use. As you may know, I recently purchased a 2014 911 Turbo S, which was a Porsche CPO with a very generous 2-year, bumper-to-bumper warranty, and a 5-year powertrain warranty. For street use, HP and torque are rather ridiculous.

For that matter, one could reasonably argue that the SR is also too much, with essentially the same power as the C6 Z06, which 15 years ago was considered by many as "too much" for the street.

All very fair and valid points Foosh. We're all so lucky to have access to such insanely quick performance cars. What a time to be alive!
