  • ZER option on Eray

Does anyone know exactly what is in the ZER performance option for the Eray?

    This thread might help:

Doesn't look like it adds a whole lot by itself.

I'm hoping there is more to it besides tires and suspension..... Maybe some aero like what came with the Z51. Time will tell since there are still several months between now and the actual release for sale.

We await the Order Guide. So far no 2024 models listed: www.GMfleetorderguide.com

In addition to our believing ZER shall contained PS4’s, the recalibrated MSRC suspension, we think it also has the identical underbody aero strakes as does the Z06’s complete aero package (either option T0F or T0G).

As to aero, my guess is that we shall see at least options CFV or VFZ, and maybe 5VF (Z06 option not the Stingray’s different but same coded option), and perhaps the high wing that is on the Z07…

2023 Z06: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, and with every visible carbon fiber option order-able including wheels. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 25 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Doesnt sound like too much. Good question.
Corvette production seems to have a major issue with the ground effects and aero pieces for the Z06 so id be surprised if that was something one would want to order for their eray unless supply lines open up on those items. Besides the aftermarket will be able to fill in the gaps as the mounting points should be identical to the z06 and easy to replicate.

I've never personally chosen to have those items on any of my cars so Im not concerned for myself but rather for my corvette brothers who love that look.

i wouldnt worry as the aftermarket will quickly follow up with beautiful aero items to dress up the exterior for those who want.

the performance difference of the ZER versus the standard Eray will be minimal

lateral acceleration just above 1.0 lateral Gs versus 1.12 for the ZER, acceleration identical within a tenth of a second and the quoted acceleration of the standard eray is 2.5 to 60 and 10.5 for the all season radials. Even if ZER contained the suspension of the Z07 package on the z06 Id probably pass as i think the spring rates etc are just a little to bold for my use. If the standard eray package ends up identical or similar to the Z06 Im good.

I remember John stating his concern that the Z07 package might be a little much for his intended use and thats good enough for me to be more apt to stay with standard Z06 level suspension.

if the ZER brings the eray up to or similar to Z06 standard suspension settings then ZER will get my money. Z06 suspension settings are as far as I want to go on a daily driver as i mentioned basing this off of Johns deliberation on what he was ordering for his z06.

          makes sense to me

I would not want the summer tires… yeah they stick like glue, but wear out so fast… and in Maine, below 40 degrees, is somewhat often…. I had them on a mustang and it if i did not drive when it was < 40, meant i did not drive it a lot… the ones on my mustang lasted just over 16k miles…

Only things I have seen "officially" are the summer tires and Harlan Charles saying it adds "wickers." BUT Visualizer show nothing different for small rear spoiler.

However, GM Pic shows 10% higher skid pad. That is a lot for just tires. Wicker's would not add to skid pad number either. If a "Gurney Type" wicker could be a small tab on the spoiler edge that might not show on the Visualizer. If like my 2017 Grand Sport Stage 2 Aero, that was extensions added to the spoiler that increased high about 2 inches. That would show. The Stage 3 added clear plastic between called a wicker.

Suspect some suspension differences in addition to less compliant suspension bushing to match the tires. ERay springs were quoted to be more like the C8 Z51 than the stiffer Z06. But could be springs, sway bar that would also not show in Visualizer.

GM Pic showing 10% higher skid pad with "summer tires." I added spring pic to show I suspect perhaps some changes as higher skid pad that significant "probably" means suspension change as well. Just a guess.
