If they aren't opening mail till the in person line....I imagine at least 1000 people will turn out. They will be processing that in person line till 5pm lol.

He did not. While I admire your effort to try and jump the gun, I imagine the process will be as follows: Put all envelopes received 2/1 in a huge bin. Randomly grab one, open it to begin the list, then repeat until all are opened. This would offer the fairest method to mail ins, ensuring its purely based on luck of the draw. They may even require you to write a specific word or phrase on the memo line to punish those who try sneaky tactics in attempt to gain an advantage.

Eh I doubt the in person line would be anywhere close to that. Number one, it'll be freezing. Number two, its a week day. Yes, some die hard prospective buyers will fly cross country to camp out. Not 1000 of them though or anywhere close imo

And its not particularly fair to the guy who has been anxious and inquired a year ago and was told hed be on the notification list, somebody in londonderry could shoot over there 2/1 and be 10th in line even though he just heard of erays last week…

I can only imagine the faces of people that fly in Wednesday morning that arrive after the FedEx driver dropped off 500+ envelopes with ERay deposits.

Hopefully, MM’s 1/31 email update provides sufficient clarity of their overall process in determining how the order of their deposit list will be compiled.

I spoke directly to Shane this morning at MacMulkin. He was clear in that the in person line will be worked through before any of their 8 vette employees open a single envelope. In person will have the advantage.

The list was simply a contact/interest list. Nowhere did MacMulkin ever say that it promised you a numbered reservation. The devil is in the details. If you really want to be early on their list, I'd recommend arriving at noon on Tuesday with a tent, lots of warm clothes and food to hold you over until 8am Wednesday morning.

Curious why these big Corvette dealerships don't have more robust online payment systems. When I put in my deposit for a C8 with Criswell, I was sent a link to put in my deposit using a credit card and I had a confirmation back in minutes. (Of course, that was not during a mad rush such as that which will occur with the first day acceptance of orders/deposits for the E-Ray or when the Z06 deposits were accepted.)

I suppose such a system could be overwhelmed for a situation that is facing Ciocca and MM, but using the right web provider with bandwidth and processing power on demand (scale up for peak volume) is available if these dealers wanted it. I know it's possible because I've worked on such systems.

Agreed. Criswell has such a seamless process. A great example for other dealers. Stingray Chevrolet is solid too, they even offer a list lookup tool.

I have been on the ERay contact list for almost 18 months, but can understand MM giving in-person deposits priority. As said earlier, MM can’t make all of us happy with the perfect process. It is what it is.

I will send my check via FedEx for Wednesday morning delivery and hope my envelope is opened earlier versus later that day.

Lets hope bowling green is set up to produce the eray in similar quantities to previous stingrays and that the holdup for the z06 was related to receiving special parts needed for the lt6 (titanium or some such parts that would probably be sourced out of ukraine or russia)

with that said half of all corvette production could be for the Eray so all those that want one will wait at most a year or two.

im a glass half full kind of guy so thats what I believe could occur. If its longer or shorter so be it.

I like your positive thinking JB! That said, John has commented recently that the LT6 is not the reason for the Z06 slow roll out. Time shall tell!

Ok so much for my theory of it being some special z06 part that would allow the eray to ramp up and produce the quantities needed to meet the massive Eray demand.

what will be will be I guess. Best to stay positive. Lifes too short to get annoyed about silly things like a new soon to be released actual car delivery date as hard as it might be.

this will be an amazing new corvette model in my opinion.

I think its interesting that we haven't seen an E-Ray with a big wing option. Aero has been a big constraint item for the Z06 and the E-Ray doesnt seem to have an aero package or at least not one shown off or detailed. Sharing in JB's optimism that maybe the production will be stronger with no aero hold up and lack of hand built engine needs.
