  • ZER performance package

It was written that the Eray suspension will fall between the Z51 and the Z06 in stiffness. I wonder if that is with or without the ZER option. (because ZER adds summer tires and revised suspension tuning as per GM)

Your question is certainly a great one and will probably be answered soon by one of the Reviewers who were able to drive the E-Ray. I think the ride will be as good or better than the Z06 because the E-Ray does come stock with the mag ride suspension. Hopefully we will find out more soon.

In Don Sherman's review, he listed the performance package containing the following:

Z06’s Michelin Pilot Sport 4S summer tire is available as part of an optional performance pack, which also unlocks carbon-fiber wheel options and a taller wicker bill for the rear decklid.

If this is truly what's in the ZER package, I'll probably skip it as I want the all season tires for more cold weather driving where I'm located and I can go after market on the wheels if I don't like the stock aluminum wheel options.

This is a great question.... I'm located in Florida and want the summer tires. Not sure what the cost will be since unlike the Z51 package the ZER package does not include performance exhaust, the front and rear ground effects, electronic differential and bigger brakes. which are all major pieces. It does appear to include summer tires, adjustable shocks and some other tuning... the price should be much lower then the Z51 price
.. but we have not been good predictors of price for these new cars...

I'm guessing here, but I think what GM will do, in order to keep the price of the ZER option up higher to the $6K mark, is that they will include additional Aero, like they did with the Z07.

I personally will not go for the ZER package because I do not want the summer only tires, and any aero you can get with it, you can get after market for cheaper. Shoot, I did not get the Z51 package for my current SR because I wanted the 4S tires.

I was under the impression the Eray suspension and braking would match up with the Z06.

I fully expected the e diff in the Eray.

I just assumed the ZER package was the z07 package for the z06

We shall see. It is early to get all the details we are wanting, but they will as always slowly come out. The late April NCM Bash would be an excellent event to ask questions just as have been raised in this thread, e.g., a wonderful learning not just from the Corvette team educational presentations they make to all in the large audiences, but equally outstanding is that they typically have 40 Corvette members there who are all super accessible for 1 to 1 questions, e.g, just walk up and ask them.

I can not wait to return. Will be our 20th Bash.

Road and Track has a short summary out today - 655 HP and 595 Ft-Lb of Torque. It is faster to 60 mph than the Z06 (2.5 seconds) and in the standing Quarter Mile (10.5 seconds). This thing is a performance monster !

It also gets great gas mileage - no gas guzzler tax. It is heavier than the Z06, but on a tight track the AWD and torque may give it a slight edge. I love everything about it but the price tag - over $104K to start. Oh well.

The Silver Flare HTC E-Ray in the Peterson Museum is a beauty. (Mine will be a coupe, but same color.)

I think what we are seeing is a Porsche marketing strategy - a buy-in point for everyone: the Porsche Carrera S is the Z51, the Porsche 911 Turbo is the E-Ray, and the Porsche 911 GT3 is the Z06. Pretty interesting approach. It will interesting to see what the car magazine guys think of it.

I wonder how much summer tires and the CF rims will take off those times 0-60 and 1/4mi times.

The Corvette I always wanted. AWD, great power and with the Z06 widebody. Wow, just wow.

For what it’s worth, the Visualizer seems to be slowly adding options. I have been able to intermittently get a Convertible on the screen, etc. There’s also a ZER option that changes nothing visual on the car (that I notice- perhaps someone else is more observant than me).

I had the same experience, but I finally got what I was looking for and downloaded the picture. May be awhile before you can get it again.

I'll be curious to see those numbers too. That said, with my intended usage as a daily driver, I won't be using either of those options. 2.5 seconds and 10.5 qtr mile on all seasons will do me just fine

I could be wrong, but I didn't think the ZER will change much visually. Summer performance tires and suspension tuning. Maybe carbon side rockers and lip? My understanding is no Z06 big "wang"
