From GM, their official E-Ray press. Posted publicly at 9:00 AM (ET), 1/17.
More to come in this and related threads;
2023 Z06: Hypersonic Gray HTC, two tone blue interior, CCB’s, 3LZ, E60, and with every visible carbon fiber option order-able including wheels. Lifetime, annual contributors, and 24 year members of National Corvette Museum. Home is the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Wow.
* 160 HP in its electric motor
* MSRP > $100K.
* All 2024 corvettes getting the new safety features.
I didn't think the price would go above $100k. I wonder how big the price increase in for the 2024 for the Z06 is going to be? It will be interesting to see the final pricing delta between the two vehicles. With the extra safety equipment, the base car could also increase in price more than the typical increase..
2023 Z06 Red Mist HTCRed Calipers / C-Flash Mirrors and Wing / Black Exhaust Tips / Front Lift / Black 3LT / CF 1 Interior / Stealth Trim / Red Belts and Stitching.
Red Mist C8 Z51 traded for his big brother Atomic Orange C6. Plenty of engine and suspension mods. Gone, but not forgotten

I'm wondering if these prices will keep the used C8's prices up...
What I don't understand, is that prior to this, everyone said "you just can't combine the ICE engine HP, and the electric motors HP, to get total HP" But that is exactly what GM did here. Can someone with more experience chime in?
Delivered 6/30/21: The Red Demon 2021 3LT Red Mist HTC.
Jet Black Interior w/Red Stitching and Carbon Fiber Interior Trim. Carbon Flash Roof, Nacelles and Mirrors. Front Lift. Spectra Gray Trident Wheels w/Edge Red Calipers. Chrome Exterior Badge Package. Midnight Silver with CF accent fender hash marks.
AGM Carbon Fiber 5VM package, High Wing Spoiler, Rear Diffuser, Engine Vents, Mirror Caps, Front Grill Inserts, and Door Boomerangs.
One factor in the e-ray price is the CCBs are standard on the e-ray. That's an $8k option on the Z06. I wonder if the CCBs being standard was to deal with the car's weight, how the brakes interact with the regen system, or just product positioning.

E-Ray has standard CCB’s, mag ride, AWD, and more

Oh RATS!!! (Had some stronger words in mind!) That’s a good $15K more than many expected, including me. Even without CCB it still would be $96K to start. I guess the way inflation is going, and the demand for the C8 has been I shouldn’t be surprised. Just disappointed. UNLESS,,,,,I can get another $10-15K for my current car, then all is forgiven! LOL!!
I was watching the Today Show on NBC and they showed the car live. They cover the ice skating rink with snow and had the new Red C8 doing donuts live in the ice rink. Al Roker was reading a press release about the car.

There is no easy answer.
Vehicle speed and engine rpm impact the combined total at any one time. Continuous electric motor TQ is typically flat and and then starts to drop at some point as the motor spins at higher rpms. The torque from an electric motor at 40 MPH is likely to be less than at 140 MPH. An engine makes peak TQ at certain rpms and speed doesn't matter. Thus the e-ray's combined system might make peak TQ at 29 MPH, 48 MPH, 69 MPH corresponding to about 5100 rpm in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gear using standard C8 ratios. However in 4th gear at 5100 rpm (94 MPH) the car may not make as much TQ depending upon when the electric motor starts to drop off a bit. At all other speeds the combined system Torque will not be max.
We won't know until GM releases the TQ curve, states the reduction gear used to drive the front wheels, and states the final drive ratio for the LT2. The fact the car traps just below the Z06 could be do to extra weight, or to the electric motor loosing a bit of torque above 100 MPH.
I'm sure Shepherd777 will come along and clean this up for you.

They have it posted. Looks like flat HP peak for the electric motor, allowing them both to peak at the same time.

That price does include the carbon ceramic brakes, which are, what, $8,000 extra on the Z06? I guess with the extra weight GM decided the bigger CF brakes were necessary? Still too rich for my blood.
