How/when the E-Ray’s reveal?

Funny. I said the same thing to my GM communications contact, that when I learned the 670 HP for the Z06 (I was so wrong guessing at 618), I was literally doing a dance in my office when my wife came around to see “what is this crazy do now?” I told her it was great news on the Z06 but she too would have to wait until the following Tuesday (10.26.21) to find anything more. As she knows better to ask and truly cares less how much power it has (all she cares about is her joy at taking curvy country Corvette corners at speed and also being on road trips), she just shook her head, smiled and walked away. I called her from the Petersen on the 26th to tell her it was 670 HP.

Same this time, she has not even asked one question.

How many days ahead of time did you get the info about the Z06 before it was released?

I hope that I can just change "2023" to "2024" in the URL to reveal the E-Ray before it's supposed to happen again ;p

Looks like several people/media companies were flown out and have already driven and reviewed the E-ray but the embargo on content is lifted at 9am (what I heard so could vary cause not sure what time zone that is) so we will get flooded with a ton of hands on reviews with the E-Ray including driving impressions.

How many days ahead of time did you get the info about the Z06 before it was released?

My guess is that 9am rumored release is correct but Pacific Standard Time which translates to noon Eastern time tomorrow. The same times as the Z06 reveil in 2021. I will make sure I'm free at that time.

Hopefully my guess will be correct and I will not be late for any of the excitement tomorrow.

Dropped in at my dealer that sold, fixed, and services my C7 Z06 today to ask about the reveal and The List. They had to look up the time, but finally they said the reveal will be at 9:00am. But reading this thread, now I'm not sure if that was EST or PST.

They weren't taking deposits, but they took my name and number and mileage on my C7 (like they didn't know that already) and pronounced me to be On The E-Ray List, although they said I should have asked six months ago. I did, guys, remember?? 😑 None of the other dealers I've been bugging have called me back yet.

About a year ago, I started asking my dealer about the Eray list and their response, “not yet”. Then the day they actually started a list, I had called (coincidentally) to inquire yet once again, and they’d advised I was placed on it automatically as they’ve had my $1,000 from a previous down payment on an earlier C8 release. When I asked my place in line, I was told I’m in the top 10. When pressed a lil more, I was advised that I’m number 10 in line for the Eray. That said, I’d hazard a guess and say it’s quite possible that I may be one of the first when they start producing, barring any constraints. Can’t wait.

Move forward and there sits a high-output electric motor that housed beneath the front trunk. It gets its power from a 1.9-kilowatt-hour battery. The hybrid system, which adds just 118 kilograms to the E-Ray’s curb weight, is also somewhat different. The battery was specifically designed to give up its power and accept a charge very quickly. In this regard, it is more capacitor-like than a conventional battery, which makes the electric response instantaneous.
More importantly, the electric motor adds 160 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque and drives the front P275/30R20 tires. The plus is the motor’s gearing brings a torque multiplication factor of eight, so when acceleration is demanded, the E-Ray scoots in a serious hurry. The fact the gas and electric power sources combine to produce a net output of 655 hp sure helps things along!
Of course, that all comes at a price; the E-Ray will start at $128,798 here in Canada for the Coupe; the Convertible pricing will be announced nearer to the release date.
