Yes I happen to be one but the nickname came from a cat we had named Boomer. He was named Boomer after Boomer Esiason who was MD quarterback at the time. He was a good cat. Lived till he was 17. Gee. Hope I'm not off topic

I’ve seen three types of waves:
      1) Harley Riders to other Harley Riders and other riders in general sometimes
      2) Jeep Wrangler waves to other Wrangler drivers
      3) Corvette Wave to other Corvette drivers

For All the above, I’ve seen various responses from another friendly wave, to a 👍, to a middle finger salute. Who knows why people react the way they do. Some I think may be preoccupied with life priorities, while others may simply be chumps and still others, are enjoying the ride and recognize you are doing the same by providing a friendly response.

I think Corvette owners have been complaining that "new" Corvette owners, or owners of the latest generation, don't wave since the C2 replaced the C1. Maybe since quad headlight C1s, replaced dual headlight models.

Not all Corvette owners are into the Corvette community or mystique, or however you want to describe it. Some just like the car. And as others have suggested, as a woman she may view getting waved at differently.

I got coal rolled by a large pick up at 40 MPH in my C7 a few years ago. Haven't seen that issue in a while. I know its illegal around here. Maybe its outta style.

When I had my Miata many, though not all, Miata drivers waved at each other. Most motorcycle riders wave at other riders, though many Harley riders only wave to other Harleys. Decades ago Porsche and BMW drivers waved at other drivers of the same make, but I suspect that's much less common now. Especially BMWs.

Boomer Rolling Coal is still a thing and unfortunately, never seems to go out of style. If my C8 was setup James Bond style, then I might pass people like that and lay on the …..well, I just won’t say, but do the James Bond thing. Whatever that might mean 😜I’m saying this in jest of course!

Which always makes me laugh, like they have something other riders only wish they had. 🙄 The only thing most of those tractors are missing is a mowing deck. Always wondered why they can't use the idle circuit at a stop light either. Keep revving the thing up, news flash, not everyone thinks they sound good.

How come? Maybe cause they're so common. Saw lotsa BMWs today. They look like the rest of the sedans still left. All the other cars are SUVs of various sizes. I don't wave to anybody when I'm in my XT5 Sport SUV.

She might know about the wave and nothing negative to you, but have you considered she may not have wanted to engage with some random guy in a corvette? I have seen my wife do it when it got awkward and uncomfortable and she just wanted out of there.

Food for thought, not saying you did anything wrong..

Talked to a guy today that has one of these very moded trucks. He doesn't do it and frowns on ones that do. He said it's a complete waste of diesel fuel which is in short supply. Hope there are more folks like him. I'll see how it is here when spring/summer comes.

Yes. No "engagement". 50F, windows up, midday, sunny, two C8s, brief stoplight, other cars, pedestrians on the sidewalk. Not "awkward and uncomfortable". Safe area. Context is everything. Thanks.

If another Vette owner does not wave or acknowledge me its really no big deal. I move on and have forgot about it by the time I reach 4th gear. I would rather enjoy my drive than wonder why someone did not wave back. Corvettes are a dime a dozen around here. But thats just me.
