  • Interior Rendering/Schematic

We've had some great exterior renderings done by some very talented folks. Not much has been speculated about the interior; some spy photos and discussion of storage capabilities but what about the interior layout? Engine placement? Seating? Venting? etc.

Wonder if some of our talented folks can take a crack at imagining the interior based on what we know so far about the exterior?

That would be great! For now, here's a drawing from someone who allegedly saw the interior (take it with a huge grain of salt though) and a spyshot of it.

Wow. They even "camo" the interior!

We have separately learned/confirmed that the interior of the C8 is very different from the C7’s — for whatever that means. The Zerv02 sketch above is consistent with the center console sloping upward.

But all in all, we know pathetically little about the interior so far.

I have a feeling gm will go all out with the c8 and offer it with soft materials in many areas...

this is one area i believe gm priducts in general fall behind in...

while shopping recently for cuvs for my better half lexus rx350 is a nice soft touch interior..

buick cadillac gmc and yes even cirvette would do well to benchmark lexus. (For soft touch material on the dash and door)

cadillac is undortunately two levels below lexus even in the new ct6 that i test drive.

supercruise from cadillac is leading technology and far superior to teslas AP2..but still the material touch texture is hard and brittle compared to the lexus rx350 i test drove

          alfa seats are world class..

i sure hope gm creats seats like my alfa for the c8. Thats a couple of grand worth spending.

AMEN!!! GM please please PLEASE give us a nice soft and supple interior. It doesn't have to be the premium high dollar Italian or German leather but give us something close. The interior layout looks like its going to be Lambo Huracanish and I'll be really happy with that. Just make sure the leather or alcantara lives up to the completely new refinement. Or at least give the option to those of us who will pay the premium price for it.

RoketRdr, that is a very fair assessment. Sure hope that GM listens to you.

Ya know...the more we are all talking about this car and what we're seeing them tease us with, the more I'm getting excited that we're about to have an American ME car produced that will be affordable and tick all the performance boxes while giving the options of taking it to an exotic level. Maybe its just wishful thinking or hope deferred...but its definitely within GM's capabilities to do it. Having an American made ME that can be bought for 70K at the same interior, tech and performance level as the current cars or a 150K option with all the added bells, whistles and refinements that competes with the exotics would just be the cats ***.

I agree a comfortable seat is extremely important. The standard leather in the CTS-V is comfy however the Recaro's in the same car were uncomfortable. They can Loose the Alcantara as it immediately appears worn and gets dirty quick.

Just found a good YouTube video, with some interior info. One of the things I like about his video is that we do not see his face in the whole video, just facts and pictures and a calm voice. Worth watching. Do I agree with everything he has said? Of course not, but still lots of accurate facts, lots of things to consider.

Good video John. Very informative. I like the discussion of the schematic that "somebody" did who has seen the interior. On that, even though he didn't mention it, I notice how wide the interior rear view mirror is. That tells me it has a much wider rear vision than we're used to and is most likely supplemented by cameras for a very wide perhaps wraparound view.

I know we have seen what appears to be rear view cameras on the camo cars so the interior "mirror" display would seem to support a pretty dynamic rear view.

Agree ... nice video John. I wonder where he got those nifty renderings from? I hope the C8 does have some "soft touch" controls, quality leather and comfortable seats. I also hope they'll continue to offer a two tone interior option. My 3LT adrenaline red interior really does make the car look finished vs the base interior that my friend had in his Z06. It doesn't take much IMHO to make a big difference.

I am have in communication with “Mike” who put the video together, helping him learn that FVS did all but one of the renderings ones in the first half of his video, and asked Mike to credit FVS in his future use of his renderings. He told me he would do so.

                          I hope he does.
