  • The 2020 Corvette has Two 12 Volt Outlets

The 2020 Corvette has two 12 Volt Outlets. One is located inside the cockpit just below the glove box. The other, as we have seen in many previous photos can be found under the hood in the trunk. Thanks to Harlan Charles for the information and for making sure we still have a 12 volt outlet in the cockpit.

I expect the one in the frunk is intended for the battery tender, and is always powered.

The one under the glove box... I'd assume that one powers off when the car is turned off, and convenient for a radar detector.

Thanks Jeremy. I've had a hard time convincing people that the interior outlet exists.

My C7 has 3,not 2. One in the trunk, one in the console cubby, and one in front of the cup holders. So the C8 loses one.

Finally! Thanks Jeremy for finally tracking down the location of the 12V port in the cabin!! Its a really odd location, but its good to know I can still plug my radar detector in somewhere.

What was the first generation that had no ashtray with a lighter socket in it?

C7 doesn't have either one. One of my prior cars offered a "smokers package" as a no cost option, that included the lighter and turned one of the cubbies, or cup holders, or something into an ashtray. But the power outlets in today's cars are mostly plastic, and you couldn't use a cig lighter in them if you wanted to.

I have a Valentine One with the remote display that blacks out the actual detector. The socket under the glove box is too far away for the driver to see and use the muting button.

hopefully the 1LT and even higher versions can have a vendor figure out how to power off the rear view mirror.
