Do you think that the C7 generation will be the second shortest one ever, stopping at the end of the 2019 model year.
We are starting to get more and more posts of members saying they believe that the 2019 is the end of the front engined Corvette, e.g., if true, bye, bye C7’s when the 2019 production run is over. One noted industry forecaster, Auto Forecast Solutions is reported to have printed in their material, that production for the C7 ends next August (2019). Even GM Authority article posts this info as a “rumor.”
Let’s talk very few facts first. We only have one, and even it only indirectly/tangentially answers this question; that is a December 11, 2017 memo from GM corporate to those of its dealers who were awarded 2019 ZR1 allocation. That document stated, that 2019 ZR1 production will end “estimated in March, 2019.” GM actually used the word “estimated” in that memo. And as we all know, the ZR1 could end earlier or later than the rest of the 2019 C7 production.
Even though I am getting a ME next year, trading in our 2015 Z06, if that thought is true, that C7 production is going to end a year from now, that would be sad news for us C7 lovers. I am hoping the C7 continues production — for it is one great Corvette.
