  • What do you think the ME weight will be

No real insight on my part. Would be nice if it dropped a couple hundred pounds.
Won’t need a prop shaft so that should drop a little. Any other places it could loose weight without exotic materials?

3,303 pounds (wet weight). Definitively can use regular materials but with lightweighting, would save a bunch of weight.

One of the best videos I have ever seen (2 minutes long):

3550 was my guess before I read that article the other day guessing the same thing. I think it was the carscoops website with the latest photos. I wish we could get back to the C5 C6 Z06 days but I think those days are long gone without the vette coming outta poor man territory.

Just read that the weight of the 2019 Stingray is 3,298 pounds; I am changing my guess for the 2020 ME’s weight to 3,292 pounds.

Can you post link? I just watched your video, I'll also change my guess to around 3475lbs.

ME Z51 1LZ will be around 3500. Unfortunately all the added radiators and lines for cooling will increase the weight. It’s funny when you load up the cars with extra leather and options how much that extra stuff increases the weight. Found out the hard way when weighing my cars. No biggie as I am not tracking this one.

3398 lbs for the targa with the lt1 derivative.and 1lt interior trim

europeans especially the italians are known to post false curb weights ......so keep that in mind for future comparisions.

My old Z06 was 3150 which was ideal. I'm hoping they put it on a diet from the current weight of the C7ZR. Most likely they won't but I can hope

Of course you have to take into account all the government mandated safety features that will be added. Added weight to the C7 design so I’m sure it will add to the C8. Safety is great but at some point there needs to be a limit. How are we going to get back to creating better drivers?

Ah yes, the old, “not one ounce of fluids” in the car when some manufacturers weigh/announce its weigh. But doesn’t a car need coolant, oil, some amount of gasoline, etc to run???

Can be a massive difference between curb weight (as defined as "the weight of an automobile with standard equipment and fuel, oil, and coolant") and dry weight. A very expensive, exotic appears to have a 252 kg difference in those two calculations, e.g. over 500 pounds.

Thanks JBsC6 for that important alert.

I'll be surprised if it's less than 3,300 and surprised (and disappointed) if it's more than 3,500.

                              I think it'll land 3,300 - 3,400.
