  • Quality of Chevy suede interior

I’m thinking about doing the jet black interior with the suede, instead of all leather. For those guys with the suede on your C7’s, how did it hold up? Would you buy it again?

I have black "suede" inserts on my 2015. 33,000 miles and they pretty much look like new.

They're not real suede, by the way. GM calls it "micro suede," and it's GM's version of Alcantara.

Alcantara was developed in the early 1970s by Miyoshi Okamoto, a scientist working for the Japanese chemical company Toray Industries. It was based on the same technology as another product from the same company named Ultrasuede.[2] Around 1972, a joint venture between Italian chemical company ENI and Toray formed Alcantara SpA in order to manufacture and distribute the material.[3][4] The company is now owned by Toray and Mitsui.

Alcantara is composed of about 68% polyester and 32% polyurethane,[5] giving increased durability and stain resistance. The appearance and tactile feel of the material is similar to that of suede, and it may be identified as such.

The Faux suede is a very durable material like the Alcantara put in Porsches.Invented by the Japanese back in the 70s. It is extremely durable much more so then suede itself. Actually suede would not hold up in an interior of a car for many reasons. The reasoning behind it is that it is cooler than leather. It is a form of a synthetic microfiber. It is 68 pct polyester and 32 pct polyurethane. Extremely durable and stain resistant.

What is used to clean it if something spills or otherwise gets a spot on it?

This was hotly debated during the C7 era. I know someone who said part of his suede interior on his car was ruined due to his mistake, but conversely, there are way more posts of those who have posted that it is easy to clean, keep clean and no staining issues. If any doubts, suggest one reads this from Adams Polishes.

I've had black suede in my 2017 GS for almost three years and had it before on my 2015 Z51. It's great and shows no sign of wear or dirt. I wash the steering wheel with warm water on a microfiber cloth and it shows no sign of wear either. Go for it!

1972 Yellow Convert with removable HT - enjoyed it for 4 years and joined by:
1976 Orange Coupe - didn't use it much and sold after 12 years
2000 Yellow Convertible - new C5 caught my attention and loved it for 15 years
2015 Silver Z51 Convertible - replaced C5 with C7 then traded for GS after 2 years
2017 Torch Red Grand Sport Convertible - still here and LOVING it

All I've ever used is a damp cloth. I don't eat in my car, though.

So bar-b-que ribs is not appropriate for long Corvette road trips. Shucks, for I had just ordered 50 pounds of them for the National Corvette Caravan.

It’s been up for three months; I thought someone would have earlier noticed LOL. Yes here is our exact car as of this moment. However, we have
changed our exterior colors, interiors, exterior accents, and more probably collectively over 150 times. It might change on some smaller items, but could go in on October 3rd exactly as is. We want to see the approximate six C8’s at NCM 25th to firm up a few minor things.

Quick question on the suede interior, I thought I remember seeing pictures of a natural interior having microsuede along the center console but I haven't seen that as an option. It was my understanding that on 3LT package the roof and upper parts are microsuede but I thought the center console was still leather

                            Sonax alcantara cleaner.

You'll need it if you get an alcantara wheel (at ~18mos and after cleaning):

We have a 15 C7 with the 3LT interior which gives you the upper A posts in microsuede and also have the microsuede seat inserts. The console is in leather. I believe there was an option which gives you the microsuede console but the 3LT regular options gives the console in leather.
